Several years ago, during morning devotions with Debra, the Spirit came on me very intensely and led me into almost half an hour of prophetic prayer with an ongoing vision to guide me. In the vision the Lord showed me a powerful rainstorm buffeting the Pacific Northwest from lower British Columbia to Northern California. I knew this was a might wave of revival that was going to hit the area. The Lord then had me begin praying for certain Christian leaders in a region extending into North Dakota, South Dakota, and northern Wyoming. He showed me each person in detail and told me what specifically to pray.
This prayer tour was conducted like a hub from Miles City, extending northeast, then east, then southeast, then north to Miles City again. At that point I saw myself looking at the vast region to the northwest of Miles City. A land that has been historically called "The Big Dry" and more lately referred to as "The Big Open."
I asked the Lord who I should pray for concerning this area. I was surprised when He said: "Yourself." The Lord then showed me a dome, or high pressure ridge, over central and eastern Montana, that the enemy had put in place to block the advance of God's rainstorm.
Nine months later, Debra and I determined to investigate the Northwest for ourselves and we were led to a church in Tacoma that was undergoing months of nightly revival. Our host was Tim Wegner of Blade-Tech and creator of the "Tim Wegner" model of Spyderco knife. The pastor of Tim's church was absent during our visit and the revival meetings were conducted by evangelist Jerry Gaffney.
For several nights we experienced a powerful move of the Spirit of God. Finally, on the last night, and after having been prayed for by some church elders, Debbie and I had to leave. We got to the front doors of the church only to find them blocked by a prayer line and people being prayed for by Jerry. Because we had already been prayed for we eased against a wall to get out of the way, but suddenly, someone grabbed us and led us into the middle of the foyer. Jerry Gaffney then turned around (his back had been to us), left the prayer line, and walked directly to us.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"You are some sort of leader." I explained that I was the pastor of a small home church.
"Where are you from?"
"Montana," I said.
"Montana is not my land," he said. "Washington in my land. Montana is your land." (This was especially relevant because earlier in the year the Lord had given me the prophetic word 'Know the Land of Your Annointing'). Jerry then touched my midsection and what felt like a blazing hot sword was thrust into my belly and I fell backward onto the floor. He continued to prophesy over me and then minister to Debra who quickly fell beside me. Since then we have had many confirmations of a might move of God hitting the Northwest -- in fact, it has been 'raining' there for some time -- and moving to the east. We believe the 'storm' will pass through Missoula, Montana where God has already stationed Lloyd Phillips, Steve Valentine and other servants, and spill over the Continental Divide.
This vision has been a large part of our spiritual motivation for the past couple years
