REVIVAL AT FUNERAL SERVICE; JESUS CONNECTION NETS LOTTERY

FUNERAL TURNS INTO REVIVAL SERVICE
A funeral turned into a 6-1/2-hour revival service at a Washington state church when God touched the friends of a young man whose life had been turned around by an encounter with evangelist Jerry Gaffney.

Twenty-two-year-old Joshua had been part of Gaffney's ministry team for eight months, after rededicating to his life to God. His sudden death shocked everyone, and his friends filled Kirkland Assembly of God for an evening memorial service.

"The altars were opened, and many came to share what Josh meant to them," said Gaffney. "Those who were not saved shared with those who were. Suddenly a holiness rarely felt hit the congregation, along with a unity, love and peace that passes all understanding. A young man fell to his knees and sobbed, just as Josh had done a few months prior. Then later another and another came. This scene was repeated until 1.30 a.m."

Gaffney said that the miraculous move continued. Friends who had attended the service brought others to church in the following weeks. "Yes, it seemed he had his whole life ahead of him," Gaffney said. "But now we can see, 'What the enemy meant for bad, the Lord has used for good.'"
