Over the past seven weeks you taught me several lessons, using as he states, an old fat man, with flat feet and bad breath. Jerry Gaffney will forever have a place in my life and spiritual growth. Jerry's ministry was direct and needed by this congregation and pastor. John the Baptist of the 20th century.
Dear Jesus
"How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me,
Things so undeserved, yet you came to give your love to me.
The voices of a thousand angels, could not express my gratitude,
All that I am and ever hope to be I owe it all to thee.
To God be the glory, to God be the glory,
To God be the glory, for the things He has done.
With his blood, he has saved me.
With his power, he has raised me.
To God be the glory for the things he has done."
The words to this song speak directly to how I feel, for what you and your blessed Holy Spirit have done in my life over the past seven weeks. Jesus, you took me on a journey that forever will and has changed my life. You took me on a journey that you purposed for me ten years ago, but because of my own stubbornness, I had to learn all over again - what it is to get and stay in the fire of the Holy Spirit.
Over the past seven weeks you taught me several lessons, using as he states, an old fat man, with flat feet and bad breath. Jerry Gaffney will forever have a place in my life and spiritual growth. Jerry's ministry was direct and needed by this congregation and pastor. John the Baptist of the 20th century.
The first lesson that you taught me was that I only operate in the flesh when I am sinning. This has opened wide a big door of understanding. Understanding that you are directing me in every conversation and situation for your glory and praise that people will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. I'm not on my own, but I am a Spirit filled, Spirit led man of God, who will speak into the darkness of this world and proclaim that today is the day of the Lord. Today is the Day of the vengeance of my God. As I walk in the Spirit I can and will see the hand of the devil broken and wounded for ?greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.
The second lesson that you taught me was that I could release the anointing of God. Lord, you desire to flow in power and authority in the lives of your saints. You desire to empower people to walk in the power gifts and tear down the strongholds of this dark world and see the captive set free. Thank you Lord, for allowing me to be your hand extended into the lives of hurting people. You called me to lay my hands on the sick and they would recover. You told me to lay my hands on the saint and see the power of God fall on them and see them change and be transformed. By the laying on of hands we could be a conduit of your power.
The third lesson that you taught me was that I need to be spiritually dressed and cleaned every day. Col. 2,3 has now come to life in me. Thank you Lord that I can take off the Old man and put him down. Thank you that I can put on the new man daily and walk in faith and power.
The fourth lesson you taught me was that I can pray for hedges in my life. Hedges of protection and hedges of conviction. Daily, you want me to pray for my family. Daily, I need to believe for my miracles. And, daily, you want to pour out your blessings and power in my life.
Then Lord there was Friday night. Wow, I have never felt and seen you move in my life like that -ever. When Jerry anointed me, I felt the power of God fall on me. The oil running down my head and neck was like fire. It burned and was not able to be ignored. The fire was not intended to be kept to myself. I started laying hands on people and the power of God fell and fell and fell. People were changed and delivered and set free and God moved for 3 hours. I want more Lord. More than yesterday, and more tomorrow.
