The crowd, in their blood-lust, cried: "Crucify him! Crucify him!"

Referring to Jesus.

They preferred a pardon for a terrorist to a pardon for Jesus.

Michael Schiavo cries: "Starve her! Starve her! No food! No water!"

And Terri has not had her death sentence for which Michael Schiavo went to court commuted.

Death by dehydration is deplorable.

Surely a cruel and unusual punishment that even Osama Bin Laden need not fear, if American courts are deciding.

On the Cross, Jesus, parched with fever, cried: "I thirst."

Fulfilling this prophecy:

"My heart has become like wax melting away within my bosom. My throat is dried up like baked clay, my tongue cleaves to my jaws; to the dust of death you have brought me down" (Ps. 21:15-16).

A soldier who felt pity took a sponge, soaked it in his wine, attached it to a reed and geld it up to Jesus' lips.

And Jesus moistened his lips with the wine.

Those who tried to bring food and water to Terri Schiavo were arrested.

No food or water for her.

By order of Michael Schiavo, her adulterer husband and legal guardian, and George Greer, the legally blind judge who left his Baptist Church after a rebuke from that Church's ardently pro-life senior pastor.

Is it a coincidence that this is Holy Week?

That the United States Senate acted to help Terri Schiavo on Palm Sunday?

That two days later a federal judge (appointed by Bill Clinton) ratified the death sentence for Terri issued by a legally blind state court judge?

That Terri may die on Good Friday?

That just as Jesus was betrayed by Judas, Terri was betrayed by her husband.

If Terri starves to death, will Michael Schiavo commit suicide, like Judas?

Or, unlike Judas, is he incapable of ever appreciating the evil that he is perpetrating?

Will Michael Schiavo say, "Her blood be on me and on my children."

Like Jesus' accusers.

Jesus' accusers said, "We have a Law, and according to the Law He [Jesus] must die."

Are the appellate judges who have not interceded for Terri Pontius Pilate's?

Like Pontius Pilate, will they say, falsely: "I am innocent of the blood of this just" person?

Will they try to absolve themselves of responsibility for what they are doing by blaming Terri herself?

Will the judicial tyranny imperiling Terri continue to be tolerated?

Or will it be checked?

Note: Jesus' body was buried, not cremated.
