As I sat contemplating that, Jerry walked by and said, "This is real." Obviously God had clued him in. blew me away!
I am a 48-year old conservative, reserved, reality-based, levelheaded Free Methodist.
On may 28, 1995, I received a call from a lifelong friend telling me about meetings at her church in Nooksack. I immediately felt that unmistakable nudge from God that I needed to be there...And that I should take my daugher ...,age 24, who for the past year had been living away from God. I carefully asked her, and miraculously (believe me!) She said she'd go.
As we sat there in the service the first night, we were overwhelmed and looked at each other with a combination of fear and amazement at what we were seeing. Occasionally my daughter mouthed at her in the first hour, "You owe me for this, Mom" However... at the end of the service, Jerry approached her... spoke with her privately ... and Beth recommitted her life to Jesus! THE CHANGE IN HER WAS INSTANTANEOUS. Life returned to her eyes that I hadn't seen for more than a year. As we left that night, we realized we had been there for three hours, yet it seemed like a brief period of time.
Beth and I began attending regularly during the evening services. And I began evaluating whether or not I thought what was happening was really from God. As I sat contemplating that, Jerry walked by and said, "This is real." Obviously God had clued him in. blew me away! And I continued to watch the "phenomenon" happening night after night with curiosity, being a bit skeptical of things like falling on the floor, especially the laughing going on by those prone on the floor.
On Thursday, June 1, .... was prayed for and received healing of her severely injured knee. And she fell on the floor!!! Mercy! WE'RE FREE METHODISTS! She encouraged me to go up for prayer for depression, but I wasn't ready, I WAS SO FRIGHTENED. But on friday, the Lord made it clear I was to do so, and I did, and yes, ended up on the floor.....WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!! AND WONDER OF WONDERS I BEGAN TO LAUGH!. God does have a sense of humor! I had lived with depression daily my entire life. It was a continual battle to overcome it even for brief periods. I have not been depressed since the movement I hit the floor, WITHOUT PROZAC! It's been replaced with songs of praise!
Attending nearly nightly, I listened to what the Lord was saying to me through Jerry and the Holy Spirit, absorbing these new concepts like a sponge. Growing more and more each day in the Lord. I didn't want to miss a thing! I was not going to let fatigue (which I suffered from chronically) prevent me from hearing what the Lord had for me. I was on a journey and I was determined to reach the destination!
During the course of the services, I experienced a mass anointing for ministry, the baptism of the Holy Spirit (WOW)!!!!!, as well as prayer for healing of back/hip/knee arthritis, rotator cuff tendenitis, chronic high blood pressure, my thyroid (nuked out many years ago), irritable bowel syndrome, as well as chronic fatigue, and lack of energy. I took 6 daily Rx medications plus pain relievers and antihistamines. I truly believe the Lord has healed me, and I praise Him for that. I have not been to the doctor yet, Jerry said my healing will be validated when I do, and I am anticipating the momentous occasion! God said it, I believe it...PERIOD! He has a job for me to do, I can't do it sick and tired.
I have witnessed many healings (including the healing of my friend's son with cerebral palsy)...I have seen many people get saved. I have watched as God transformed teenagers into beautiful creations. THESE THREE WEEKS HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE AND MY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD. I love you, Jesus! and thank you Jerry and Jan et al, for allowing the Lord to use you. Blessings upon you
