This night, May 28th, GOD TOUCHED ME AND HEALED ME. FOR THE LAST FOUR WEEKS I HAVE HAD NO SHOTS, NO DRUGS, AND NO PAIN MEDICINE
I thank God for the many miracles that He has done for me and my family in the last four weeks.
For seventeen years I was afflicted with diabetes. This truly was a weapon that was formed against me to destroy me. Over the years I had two heart attacks, one heart failure, and two strokes. Diabetic neuropathy caused the nerves in my legs, hands, and feet to start dying. Because of this I had lost all feeling in my legs and feet. I have had a number of infections which would take more than the normal time to heal. A small cut would take months to heal.
I was taking 130 units of insulin per day. My sugar level was running about 200 to 240 per day. No control. I WAS DYING, AND I DIDN'T CARE WHETHER I LIVED OR DIED. I have been hurt by men, and I thought God didn't love me. Oh, was I wrong. One thing that I like about Jerry is that he calls sin sin.
On Sunday, May 28, 1995, Jerry came to our church. That first Sunday he was preaching, this fat man with bad feet and bad breath had the nerve to say the sickness was because there was sin in my life. Now I HAVE BEEN A PREACHER FOR 25 YEARS. I have been saved for 38 years, and I have had the baptism of the Holy Spirit for 24 years.
The Holy Spirit convicted me and showed me that I had let pride, idolatry, unbelief, and anger, lust, covetousness into my life. I had grieved the Holy Spirit. I fell to my knees and said, "Oh God, forgive me, and cover these sins with your blood and take these sins away from me." Immediately I felt a great lifting of heaviness from my soul. I felt a great cleansing. I was clean for the first time that I can remember in about 23 years. I felt such a joy and love that my Father had for me.
Sunday night Jerry prayed for a healing of my diabetes. Jerry had prayed for me nine months earlier in Blaine and I was not healed then. I had not let the Holy Spirit do a work in me because I was hiding my sins. This night, May 28th, GOD TOUCHED ME AND HEALED ME. FOR THE LAST FOUR WEEKS I HAVE HAD NO SHOTS, NO DRUGS, AND NO PAIN MEDICINE. I feel like a new person. My blood sugar level is running 95 to 100 every day. I am walking better. I am getting feeling back in my feet and legs.
God is restoring my ministry, and I have fallen passionately in love with my Lord and Savior. He has touched my family. I have seen Him touch and bless my youngest son. He has put a great servant's heart in him, and has called him to preach. I see him working in my wife, and He has given her such a glow. He has given me life and breath, and He has given me a great desire to serve Him all the days and moments of my life.
