 My Dear Friends:
This is part of the News Letter I am sending out I hope you enjoy it.
As I laid in intensive-care in the hospital listening to what the doctors had to say, I could only smile. Report after report was not good in the world's eyes. As one doctor leaned closer to me, he stared straight into my eyes and said, "I don't think you understand how serious this is. You almost died of heart failure. If you do not take this seriously, you will die".
I had this little smile on my face because it did not matter what they had to say. I was going to get a second opinion.
Now the problem was "whose report will you believe?" I chose to believe the report of the Lord. I just know if the devil thought I was so important he tried to stop me, therefore, my God must be up to something good. I have learned to enjoy the battle no matter how big it is - because the bigger the battle, the bigger the miracle. I know I have a miracle working God.
I will not spend a long time on the details. Here is the list of the future miracles waiting for healing. 1: Congestive Heart Failure. 2: High Blood Pressure 195/110. 3: Diabetes sugar level 400+ for over a month now. 4: Pneumonia. 5:-Unspecified lung disease. (lumps in my lungs). 6: Cancer.
Isn't this wonderful? We will get to see a lot of miracles in the next few months. I am taking the doctor's advice and resting a little. I will be having daily radiation treatments for the next month. So, I will not be able to leave Washington for the next 6 weeks or more. (RATS!).
I want to thank all of you who have already sent Get-Well cards. I also want to thank those of you who understood that if we are not ministering, there is no income. So, thank you, my special friends, for your heart and understanding to help us in our time of need. I will need about four to six more weeks of rest to finish the cancer treatment. That will mean we will have been off the road for about three months. I cannot wait to get back in the pulpit!
The only problem I have is my pride. I have never sent out an appeal letter for finances. Whenever I had a need I just worked harder. Most of those in ministry would understand these words. Now I am dependent on the love of others, wow what a learning lesson. I have no fear of death, I have no fear of man but depending on your friends. Now that is an interesting lesson to learn. I pray I learn it quickly.
