Jesus Christ was given "Luke" by the father, as a Disciple. Luke, was a Doctor. Therefore, God can and will work thru Doctors also. Secondly, you'll find if go thru Books like Leviticus, God gave man many a simple yet still very important medical understanding, according to the instructions God gave the Jews to follow in dealing with particular standard illnesses, to chronic/life threatening ones.
Leprosy was a chronic and usaully end "death" related illness, God prescribed a specific instruction to follow for the curing of this disease.
Wether viral or bacterial, the infestation causing Leprosy, would slowly cause the dieing and falling off of fingers, toes, hands, feet, etc. Yet tho it was chronic and highly contagious thru physical contact, God instructed the Jews how to care for someone afflicted with this disease, to see them eventually cleansed and cured of it.
In our "walk of Faith" in God, God gives us two main understandings to hold to-
1- He declares He will heal us.
2- But, God also declares His ways are not ours.
So, with that said, God, per individual, will deliver them thru a trial/tribulation as He knows is best for them. That can be as infinite as there are diverse individuals living today. Yet, it will always be within His Word and Will for us.
I've known people delivered from smoking or drinking in the "snap of a finger"/miracle. And there was no rebounding back to it, nor any interest/attraction to do it again. Some were even repelled by the smell of it now.
Yet, God has delivered others I know, by means of those nicotene patches, some by psychological replacement, etc.
I've known those delivered just like that, to those who God intentionally took to "rock bottom" near death, to get them to be delivered.
Doctors and thier practices have thier place and position in God's "Great Commission" for Serving Him by helping others. But in some cases like cancers, etc., it takes seeking God, for what He knows is best to try.
Chemo Therapy, Radiation and all other forms of such "cures", also kill off a percentage of good cells, therefore, according to each individual and how thier body will handle treatments for a need instead for a miracle another way, is to be God's Will.
I've had the same cancer my dad had since 1997. I was checked again about 7 years ago and it had not changed any since first diagnosis. All my imediate relatives, save two brothers, are dead within two years of taking treatments for cancers.
So, I haven't. But I'm not afraid either. I've left it in God's Hands and never think of that disease or my having it unless another brings up the subject. Why? It will be God's choice if I live or die from it, and have already outlived all other relatives diagnosed with it who tried having it treated by man.
So, taking prescriptions or treatments is not against God or taking away from having Faith in Him to heal us. Some religions teach thier followers to never see Doctors for afflictions. I know full well, some of them have died needlessly, because they had not saught God's actual "Will" for what they personally should do.
Many think "God's Ways" are truely mysterious. But they are not. In Truth, God shows how several times in his Word where differing people dealt with the similar to identical situations, yet God delivered them different than each other. Why? Because they were seperate individuals with specific needs/circumstances, etc to each one. Thats all it is.
God may be able to deliver you thru something in one way, but with my going thru the identical situation, God may need to deliver me by another means. It all depends on the individual.
God Bless!!
