Life is like being a pumpkin

Never looked at it like this before..............

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be
a Christian?" The coworker replied, "It is like being a
pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in,
and washes all the dirt off of you. Then he cuts off the
top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the
seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves
you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you
to shine for all the world to see."

What do you think
I is being a Christian like a pumpkin

That analogy of life as a Christian being like a pumpkin I thought was pretty good.

I thought it was funny.

It came from my sister Letha.

The one we are praying to get saved.

Lord make us all pumpkins to shine in the darkness of this world. Lord most of all send some pumpkins into Letha's life that she would come to call you Lord and Saviour. In Jesus name.
AMEN!!

Jerry I really like this analogy. It seems to be a perfect example of the most simple truth of leting out light shine for him through our loving smile and warm embrace.

Thank you Lord Jesus for s****ing out all the junk inside, and replacing it with your life and light.

I really enjoyed that analogy. It seemed to tell the story quite well, in very understandable terms.

God bless you Jerry.

This is a very amusing analogy. It made me smile.

I also think that we must be careful not to be an old pumpkin head with no thoughts of our own and not to let the blind lead the blind. After all a carved out pumpkin soon decays and dies

Jesus came to give us eternal life and to give us an abundant life.

Sometimes in my prayers when I am asking for guidance and direction, I hear the prompting of the Holy Spirit asking me what I want to do, what is it that I really want.

The fact that God gaves us free will to decide to choose Him or the world shows that our Father is interested in us using our own hearts and minds and using the gifts and talents that He gaves us as individuals.

This is not to say that your pumpking joke is not funny....it really is...it is just that I am so opposed to becoming an automoton and not thinking for myself and letting others do my thinking for me.

I understand that the Bible tells us all to be in agreement...but I also understand that is for the things of God. I do not want sincere Christians to be misled -- epsecially now where we are being told that being bloodthirsty for war is God's will.

It is not God's will that anyone perish.
