Did God create a man named Adam, or did He create adam "mankind?" Perhaps both situations are true and correct. Red earth has a very interesting history as well as symbolic picture. Red ocher or red earth was used in virtually every Stone Age culture on earth for religious ceremonies. Earth or dirt is a picture of the body "Out of the dust of the Earth He created them" Now literally the phosphorous, hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen that makes up our bodies can be found in the dirt of the Earth. But symbolically dirt, dust, earth, all mean the body. Red is a picture of blood sacrifice and of life. "The life is in the blood" So the word/name Adam shows us a living body, a living sacrifice, and a Life that is found only in the Blood of Christ (Anointed). |
