For those of you participating in the prayer vigil for marriage this weekend, I have compiled a few thoughts and some scriptures to guide us. We are all in different places in our faith, and some of us may not be aware of the power of praying Scripture, or even how to pray rightly. I pray that God will lead each of us into this weekend, that we will not only see many victories and breakthroughs, but that we would come out with a deeper intimacy with him.

1.James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

It is important that we have clean hands and a pure heart, when we come before the Lord. He will not hear us if we harbour sin in our hearts, or if we are not walking in righteousness. we must search our own hearts first, before we begin to pray for others.

2. Spirit of Humility
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
We need to come humbly before God, knowing He is all we have, and we cannot do anything except by his strength.

3. Praise and thanksgiving
We need to offer our requests sandwiched between praise and thanksgiving.
4. Faith
Mark 11:24 Believe that you have already received what you have asked for. Remember that God is not limited by time. When we ask him , to him it is done, and when He acts, who can reverse it?
5. Scriptures for marriage:
Adapt the following scriptures to the marriages you are praying for:

)Proverbs 5:15-23
Proverbs 31:10-12

I have since thought up more scriptures, I am certain we could find lots that apply to broken and hurting marriages.

Ezekiel 36:25-27
Ezekiel 37:4-14
Isaiah 43:18-19

Let's pray for victory and breakthrough, that His kingdom come and will be done! I believe there is a move of the Spirit for healing marriage right now, let's listen to what He is saying to us.

Blessings
