When we pray we're to thank God already for things which we haven't recieved yet. But when you do this are you really convinced that it'll happen ? I mean often I thank God but I know exactly that I'm not even sure wether it'll happen, but what shall I do ? I mean what if I thank God for something and then it doesn't happen ? What if I pray for a sick person and thank God for healing her and then nothing happens ? How can I say something like: "I thank you God for you wanting to heal her.... " ? I have to know his will to do that but I don't know his will.

Dear Bro. Frederick,
First, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Have you been spending much time in the word my friend? Go to the New Testament and start in the first 4 gospels. We hope, and we have faith, it is the evidence of things not seen. We walk by faith, not by sight. We also know there is much sickness, trouble and turmoil in this world because we live in the world of sin. Satan's territory you know. Now this is not an excuse for not being healed or prayers being answered by friend. Look at the people in the Bible. Sometimes their prayers were immediate others took long for God to answer. (do you realize there are many demons trying to stop the answer from getting through to us?) The Word says His time is not our time and His ways are not our ways. When we pray we are to pray in faith and by His will. How do we know God's will? By learning the scriptures and talking to God everyday. He does not always take us around a situation but He will give us strength to go through. Remember, we are told to take up our cross daily, if we are not willing to go through things we are none of His.

Jesus suffered a horrible death, worse than anything we will ever face. That may seem hard to believe given we suffer sometimes long painful lives and then die. But I believe God's word is true. Believe it or not when we do suffer and keep our worship and praise through it God does get the glory. Not that He loves us to hurt mind you but He loves when we trust Him through all. I tell you from all kinds of experience, many both physically and emotionally painful that only when I rested in God did I have peace. As to prayer. Yes, I believe when I pray in His will my prayers will be answered. His ways are not our ways so I dont know if the answer will be what I think it should be, but I know He will answer. Right now I am in a desert place myself, but I have to hang on to Him. The world holds nothing. My Father holds my future, the one in heaven.

Oh, by the way, it took me five years to receive the Holy spirit baptism. One day I finally died to self. I was in agony and finally got to the end of my rope. I cried out to God, Lord, if you dont fill me with your Spirit then take my life. three days later in an old junkyard garage where we met next door for church, the Lord filled me with His precious Spirit. Right there on a dirt floor. I spoke in six different languages so said the Pastor's wife. Now my present church says you just accept Him by faith, which is true, but I dont believe in just name it and claim it. Yes, by faith, but your heart has to be totally sold our for Jesus. If you are my friend then pray the Lord to fill you and believe it. Like Anointed Warrior said, act on it. If you are uncertain talk to the Lord about it but if you turn in anger and unbelief you werent in the place to receive that gift of the Holy spirit. It is a gift my friend. Remember, Jesus wants to give it to you. That is it!! --------Oh, I know this may not be exactly what you asked about but I wrote as the Spirit led me!! We are told to be thankful and praise Him for all things as difficult as that may sometimes be. Keep growing in Him brother!

Forgiven one!
