why is God always right ?

Everybody says that whatever God does is righteous and correct, but why ? Just because he created us ? What tells us that God's decisions are really correct ? Can't we disagree with him on things ? I think most people actually disagree but they're too scared to admit it.
I mean God is all powerful and when somebody is all powerful then he has nobody who is on a par with him and this mean he can say of himself whatever he wants. In a dictatorship the dictator also tells of himself the best things and whoever doubts it will be punished.

I pray you will have the experience with God in spite of your disbeliefs, and how you talk about God,..comparing Him, my Abba Father to a dictator...
dear Father God~ I pray in Jesus' Holy name that what jerirose, chris & I prayed in chat early Monday morning, that God ZAPS Frederik in a way that he can no longer deny You comes about & also dear God work on healing his relationship w/ his earthly father as well, I thank You for granting my prayers that we 3 agreed upon, praise you Jesus! Amen

I didn't compare him with a dictator, I just said that somebody who has all the power can say anything.

hmmmm... Why is God always right? Let's see...

Psalm 48:10 "According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness."

Psalm 97:2 "Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne."

Psalm 119:137 "Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments."

Psalm 145:17 "The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works."

Being "Right" is His character, His personality. He is "Right" because HE IS righteous. He is the "STANDARD" by which all things are judged... because HE IS "Righteous" (Right).

Sure, you can disagree with Him all that you like... but HE is still RIGHT... because HE IS Righteous.

Oh and BTW .... He will not rule as a Dictatorship... but He will rule by Theocracy. Because HE IS God.

Posted by: Frederik

Who says that his standards are really all correct ?
If there were other gods besides him then we could compare but we only have 1.

YOu know what brother, you are not seeking a relationship with the Living God. You are looking for excuses to argue His very existence. One day you are seeking His baptism, the next day you are looking for reason to not even trust His decisions. He is the Great I AM. All things were created by Him, without Him was nothing. He is sovereign which means having supreme power, authority and rank. A dictator is cruel only abusing power irrationally to further himself. Now King of Kings, came down as Jesus and suffered the most horrible cruel death of any man, (did you even read my reply to you yesterday?) and doing so what did He have to gain. He did it to gain our freedom from death and sin. Jesus did it all so we would have a right to the kingdom of heaven. We are all born in filthy sin and no dictator could take that away, nor false god. You brother I believe are walking on shakey ground. How can you have under your posts "want prayer f is your man?" To whom do you pray? YOu obviously have no reverence or understanding of God. Brother, I feel none of us should get into any more discourse with you until you come asking for prayer to get you saved. Sorry if this sounds harsh but Jesus didn't argue with the unbelievers, He gave the word and that was it. We dont have to prove God, Jesus didn't. This one brother only wants to argue. Oh, yes, you can argue with the Lord, if done reverently. Men in the Bible have done it. Moses argued with God when God wanted to destroy all of the Israelites because of their continued sin. Moses argued that if God destroyed His own people how would it look to the Gentile nations. Moses won that arguement because God set aside His right to do with us, whom he created, what He wanted and instead gave the people another chance. A dictator would not do this. Do you even read God's word friend? If you want set free then read this prayer I have prayed for you. Read it and repent of your sin of unbelief in God's word and receive the forgiveness and love the Lord wants to bestow upon you. Frederik you either believe all of God's Word or you dont. And God who is Holy, cannot lie.

Father God, I pray for Frederik, that you Lord would be merciful to this brother, that you would touch his hardened heart with your love. Though none of us deserve your love I pray you would reach into this man's life and crush all the demons of hell that hold him captive. I pray that Lord, you will open your Word to him to understand and receive. Satan and all your demons, take your hands off this man's life, I loose you this day back into the darkness where you all belong. I bind the mind of Frederik to the mind of Jesus so that Frederik is unable to see anything but the face of Jesus. I bind his thoughts, words, and spirit to you oh Lord. This day we cast out that contentious spirit in Jesus name never to return. Thank you heavenly Father for all that you are going to do in Jesus name, amen.

Did you not read the post?

Psalm 145:17 "The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works."

God's Word says that HE IS correct... HE IS Righteous!

Take a look around... not just in the Word... but take a look at the universe... do you think that it just happened?

Scientists have taken a look at the universe... the solar systems... stars and planets and as they look at the very intricate parts of movement within the solar system and planet alignments... they have even concluded... someone must have built this... the enormity of it all suggests creation.

Do you think that God knew what He was doing as He created? Sure He did... Why? because He knows... because He is Righteous... He is RIGHT.

Oh there are those who will say... "Well, it's sure in a mess now". Well, that is not God's doing... but man's undoing.

Posted by: Frederik

Okay, I am also righteous. Do you see it, I just wrote it down, does this make me righteous ?

* forgiven

You don't know anything about me and my problems and why I have these problems.
So don't say that I just wanna argue ! You have no clue about me. I just cannot believe everything without thinking about it and using my brain. This repent of your unbelief stuff is so ridiculous, do you really think this helps ? I would still have the same doubts. You obviously cannot understand it when people doubt. Your kind of christian causes much pain.

Posted by: forgiven one

Frederik,
Sorry you feel the way you do. I too had many doubts. There are times I still doubt how God could love me when i fail Him. But one thing I do know is there came a time when I was tired of the devil causing me to doubt. I just had it with him messing with my mind so I believing in the one true God and Jesus repented to God for my life and asked Him into my heart. The word of God says doubt is sin, so yes, I repented of my doubt. I told God I was sorry I doubted HIM because of the junk the devil was speaking to me. I may seem harsh to you but I tell you if you want freedom in the Lord it takes a heart wanting to stand up and cry out to Jesus for that salvation that He offers us.

As to not knowing your life. I read enough on here to know you have it tough; every one has gone through things in their lives. I have gone through beatings, watching loved ones die in my arms, having a boyfriend run over by a car in my youth, having a family who never accepted me, I could go on and on but you know what? God so loves me anyway. He just does. In spite of everything we all go through God loves us. Once you decide to trust Jesus He will take away your unbelief, but how can He until you let Him? That is what faith is all about. Not looking at our circumstances but allow the Lord to begin a work in us. Sure we will still have problems and doubt will come and go. But the power we receive from the Lord will cause us to say, okay, that doubt or fear or what ever has to leave in Jesus's name. We gain that authority to come against those things which aren't of God because He now lives in us. We have the same rights Jesus has, and that means we can send those thoughts out of us. Remember something though. We have had years of our brains learning things not of God. Now God changes our hearts, he gives us a new heart. So it take practice and reading the Word everyday for our brains to catch up with the work God has done in our hearts. For instance, a child is told by his parents for years that he is stupid. That child will believe that lie. Now being saved the child or adult knows that isnt true but it takes putting God's healthy scriptures into the mind over and over to change that thought pattern.

You talk about using you brain. I am now reading a wonderful book about that very subject. Our brains really need the word to change the way we think. Faith is something we cant see and our brains want concrete evidence, that is why our hearts are touched by God. Our hearts, it is proven scientifically, have a heartbrain. It give us that intuition we talk about. Like when we say, I just knew to do it even though it didnt make sense. The word says we are given a new heart when we are saved. I know this doesnt make much sense but it is true. We have to let go of our thoughts which are formed by the world's sense and rely on the thing we cannot explain. I am saved by faith. Faith is unseen but the more we act on faith the evidence of our faith becomes a reality. I know it can seem so overwhelming. The bible says whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven so that is why we can bind, which means to put together like with glue or ropes, our minds to the mind of Jesus. That way the enemy cant so easily attack us as we are willingly giving our thoughts over to Jesus. If this offends you then I dont know what to say. To walk with Jesus means I am willing to give Him everything. My thoughts, dreams, fears, doubts, health, yes everything. I lay it all at His feet and ask Him to deal with it and I trust He will.

I really pray you find peace Frederik and the Lord's love. He sure wants to be your friend and you Lord.

Posted by: Frederik

It's not so much about my life, but more about me.
You can't understand me and my messed up brain. I need to be sedated or knocked off.

Posted by: Donm

Thanks for your testimony of what God has done in your life Forgiven One.

>>Frederik said - I need to be sedated<<

No Frederik, you don't need to be "sedated" - you need to be what I call "marinated" in the presence of God and His Word. It will absolutely change your life.

Spend time "soaking" in His Word... do you read the Word daily? I mean DAILY". You have to in order to overcome.

I just received an email from a good friend of mine who also soaks and spends time in God's presence. I really like what she said and believe that maybe it could be a word in this situaution:

"Many are going through trying times, adversity seems to be hitting them hard. Even things they have had victory over in the past through Christ Jesus seems to be coming back with more intensity then before. I believe the body of Christ is living in a time where they are being asked to "put their money where their mouth is", so to speak. We have talked the talk and now the Lord is saying, "do you believe what you are and are you willing to walk the talk." These trials are being allowed so that we might put our belief to work - or not - depending on the road we choose to travel."

Reading the bible doesn't do much for me.
I cannot keep things in my head and afterwards I don't even know what I read.
Also reading the bible cannot replace being close to God and it doesn't purify me.
I just want to know what God thinks about me. I have been angry at him quite often and I have to know if he still loves or wether I'm getting on his nerves. A few words of God directly spoken to me would do more for me than anything else, so why doesn't he simply do it ? Also others telling me that God loves me doesn't help me. If God loves why doesn't he show me his love ? Maybe it think too much about how an earthly father would behave, but what shall I do ? God can do even more than an earthly father.

Posted by: Donm

Aha... and now we get to the root of the problem...

>>Reading the bible doesn't do much for me. Also reading the bible cannot replace being close to God and it doesn't purify me.<<

You are so WRONG my friend and in need of instruction. The Bible is GOD'S WORD - it is what God has said since the begining of time , and is saying even today...

Doesn't "purify" you? Hmmmm?
John 15:3 - "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."

John 17:17 "Sanctify (set apart/cleanse/purify) them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

Ephesians 5:26 "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

Sounds like a purifying, cleansing act to me.

You are waiting for a "spoken" Word to you... when you will not even believe and have faith in what He has already said in the Bible (His written Word)?

>>The Bible cannot replace being close to God<< -

How do you know this when you say that you cannot feel God, you cannot hear God, you cannot see God? How did you come to this conclusion if this something that you have never experienced on either account... you have never felt, heard, or seen him... nor do you read His Word... how did you arrive at this conclusion?

The Bible is God's Word... it is the very "heart" of God. It reveals who God is, what He is about, and what He is doing today.

Matthew 22:29 - "Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God."

Hosea 4:6 - "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

No feeling, no dream, no words of man or from man, can ever replace the power of God's Written Word, the Bible. All of these other things, feelings, dreams, words of and from man are "helpers" not replacements for the Word of God.

This is why Frederik you need a daily routine of reading God's Word... it will reveal to you God's heart for it is His heart. You will NOT survive without God's Word -

Romans 15:4 -"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

Man, I have already read in the bible, I just don't have the discipline to do it daily.
I am simply frustrated cause I don't have what all the others have. The others can speak in tongues, the others get prophecies, the others talk about God's love as if it was something you can buy in the supermarket.
I feel so strange, like a real failure cause I don't know what they talk about and I also want it. Also when I pray it doesn't work and besides this I have thousands of questions about praying and all that stuff.

Posted by: Donm

In other words, you want what everbody else has without having to "pay the price" that they had to pay to get there?

You don't want to have to read God's Word completely through, two and three times a year in order to know the heart of God?

You don't want to have to pray for hours on end (sometimes days, weeks, months without end) in order to hear from God and know God's direction?

You don't want to have to fast (abstain from catering to your fleshly desires... food, T.V., etc, etc) for days in order to have a body that is cleansed and ready for the anointing that God is ready to pour into you in order to Shake the World with the Gospel?

In other words... you want what YOU want and YOU want it NOW!!!

Sorry friend, there is a price to pay... God does not give out His best gifts to those who only want to take a "test" drive. He is looking for those who are committed... those who have sold out... those who absoutely BELIEVE that HIS Word is TRUTH regardless of how they feel or what the world says.

You must have your heart mind made up that regardless of what your flesh screams - you WILL believe GOD... and then you will prove it with your actions... by reading God's Word daily, by praying until you pray through each day, by denying your flesh of any opportunity to exalt itself.

There is a price that must be paid... yes, salvation is FREE to anyone who accepts the gift... however, there are more gifts that He desires to give and they do not come cheap.

Also....

Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised"

James 1:2-8
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Lord, again I ask that you would increase Frederik's faith.

You want EVERYTHING--- for doing nothing... God inhabits the praise of His people, all I see is your complaining, not your praise, not lifting up God,--- think about it... and God DOES speak to us through others, except you are too hardheaded in wanting this BIG BOOMING VOICE FROM THE SKY...SAYING "HEY FREDERIK..IT'S ME GOD" HE ALSO SPEAKS IN THE still small voice saying Frederik I died for you on the cross..what are you willing to do for me?

Posted by: Frederik

Man, the problem is that I don't even know how to pray for hours.
What do I do the whole time ? Do I speak the whole time or what ? Or do I just sit there do nothing ?
Fasting is too dangerous for me, since the time that I know that it can cause life threatening complications I'm scared of it. Unstable people, like me, also shouldn't fast cause it can increase depressions.
I fasted for 1,5 days and it did nothing for me, I just sat there being hungry that was all, it made no sense.
And I also cannot pray for month for the same thing. This makes no sense, either God does it or he doesn't.
When I pray and have faith and it doesn't work then I just leave it. Why should we pray in Jesus' name 1000 times when the bible says that he'll do it ? EIther he does it or not.
Also you cannot compare me with other christians which know God better than me. I am rather new to this thing and I cannot pray for hours. When you start working out you also cannot lift as much as the Mr.Olympia.
And by the way which person is able to read thru the whole bible 3 times a year ? This would mean reading hours every day. You can do this when you're unemployed and when you've got nothing better to do but normal people cannot do this. Even if you read the bible 3 times a year, you forget most of it anyway.
Once I even asked my pastor about fasting and such stuff and he said that it's not about how long you fast.
What you think is this: The more I fast, the more I get. The more I suffer for Jesus, the more I get.
You know, you can as well read the bible 20 hours a day and fast for 120 days, but I doubt that much will happen. It's about realistic goals and not unrealistic goals which only demoralize people like me.
When you tell me to pray for hours then it's simply unrealistic. Nobody can do that, not even pastors do that.
I hate reading and reading the bible isn't much fun for me, I am also very lazy, at least I admit it.
But I threw away all my secular cds and my horror movies which are worth morth than 700 $, I thought that maybe they were the reason why nothing worked but now that they're gone it's still the same..... It's not that I don't care, but I'm simply lazy and I don't have the stamina to pray for hours, I get frustrated very easily.

After reading all the posts in this thread, I beleive that you, Frederik, have no been discipled since your salvation. You need to get into a good Bible believing/teaching church and go EVERY WEEK, find a good Bible Study or group and go EVERY WEEK. Praying is easy, you just talk to God. You have no problems talking to everyone here all the time, so I know you'll be able to chat with God all day. Of course, you'll have to learn how to LISTEN for Him and to Him. I think THAT will be your biggest challenge.

The reason for reading the Bible over and over is so we retain it! It's repetition and memorization. We remember things we need to remember. Why? Because we hear the information over and over and over. Same with the Bible. Find a version that you can read easily. In fact, change versions every year to make it new and fresh. Or buy the Bible on auto cassette and listen to it all you can. If you read the Bible only 30 minutes a day, you can read through it TWICE in a year!

When I got saved, I got into a good church and attended a Bible Study for the next four years. I got well grounded in the Word of God. I began to get more revelation and understanding. Ask the LORD to give you hunger for Him and His Word and RECEIVE and BELIEVE that He will do what He says He will do. You cannot pray in doubt and unbelief and think God will answer your prayers cause He won't.

All our thinking, our thoughts, determine our actions and beliefs. We are told to RENEW OUR MINDS DAILY through the Word of God. Your mind is still carnal and so are your thoughts. Until you renew your mind daily and refuse to think carnal thoughts, but to take them captive to Christ, you'll continue to walk in defeat. That's just the way it is.

Now the question you must ask yourself is how long will you sit in spiritual diapers while satan runs you through his grinder? Time to grow up in the LORD, brother, and that'll take ACTION on your part. Stop the whining, the crying, the babbling, the hissy fits, the screaming, the moaning, the groaning, the sniffling, the thumb-sucking and the temper tantrems and get up and WALK!!! Time is short and God needs every member of His kingdom standing up and taking back the ground satan has stolen, setting the captives free, releasing those in bondage and bringing in the harvest!!

Frederik - time for some of what is called "tough love".

The problem is you are NOT a believer - you are a DOUBTER - this not my judgement upon you - but your own, you have doubted every reference of scripture that has been given to you throughout this thread - thus a "doubter".

The reason that you doubt is that you ARE LAZY and You ARE very SELFISH.

As a stated before - you want what YOU want, when YOU want it, and by God you AREN'T going to wait for it either. God you either give it to me NOW or you aren't GOD. Sounds a little childish to me also... either you play the way that I WANT to play or I will take MY ball and go home. Waaahhhh Waaaahhh Waaahhh.

You have allowed what God started within you to be stolen from yor heart by the deceiver... yes, he has deceived you and fell for it.

You aren't by yourself, many others do the same every day.

It's because you aren't disciplined... this is why again I asked if you attended Church. Attending Church, Bible reading, praying daily, fasting, they are all "disciplines" of which it seems that you do not want any part of. Oh yes, you want the rewards of a disciple... but you do not want to pay the price or practice the life of a disciple of Christ.

I am sure you have heard the old adage... No pain, no gain... well, the same is true for a disciple of Christ.

I pray at least 2-3 hours a day (everyday).... Jesus asked the disciples "Could you not tarry with me for one hour?" Can't you give the Lord one hour of your day to pray?

Do you think that I started out praying 1 hour a day... no way... I had to discipline myself... I was lazy... praying was hard work... besides I was through my prayer list (my wants) in less than 5 minutes... what was I supposed to do for the remaining 55?

I found that prayer wasn't just me doing all the talking... neither was it just running through my list of wants... but it was taking time to worship Him as I prayed, taking time to focus on Him and ministering to Him as I prayed... as I began to focus on Him, my needs began to seem insignificant and not as imposing. I began noticing that I needed to take time to listen and just stop talking during my prayer time and listen with my heart. I began to hear Him... faint at first, but as I remained disciplined to prayer.... I now hear Him clearly everytime I go to prayer. But it didn't happen the very first day, nor the first week, month or year. Through the days, weeks, months I began to enjoy my time with Him... and He began to reveal His heart to me. My prayer time began to increase from 5 minutes to 45min. eventually I wouldn't have time in an hour to fellowship with God in my prayer time. What was happening to me? I was becoming disciplined - I was actually becoming a disciple of Christ.

I have actually read through the Bible 3 times in one year, while holding down two jobs.... it can be done, very difficult, but it can be done. I want to say this however... it's not in how many times that you read through the Bible, just make sure that you are reading the Bible daily. You will not survive without it. It is what bread (food) is to your natural life... God's Word is to your spiritual life. Discipline yourself - quit being so LAZY.

Fasting...

You said...
>>I fasted for 1,5 days and it did nothing for me, I just sat there being hungry that was all, it made no sense.<<

DUH!!! It's supposed to make you hungry, it's supposed to make you feel uncomfortable, it's supposed to make you have headaches.

What is happening? You are crucifying your fleshly desires. Your mind and body cries out "I'm hungry... feed me .... NOW!!!!" But you continue to fast and crucify your fleshly desire. You are bringing your body/desires under subjection/control.

It's a sacrifice... do you think sacrifices are pie in the sky, no pain, no suffering? Ask the many lambs who have been sacrificed over the years... if there wasn't pain... most of all ask the supreme sacrifice, the Savior of the World if it was without pain when He hang on the cross for you. I'm sure He isn't saying... "Oh, it wasn't a big deal". It was painful, but He had to discipline Himself to walk that walk and say regardless of the pain that I am going to have to go through - it's going to be worth it... because by my sacrifice, my pain, Frederik is going to be reconciled back to You Father.

Yes, Frederik I have to agree with you.... you are LAZY, you are SELFISH, and you are a DOUBTER.

However, you ARE who Jesus died for... and you ARE the reason that Jerry and people like myself and others spend so much time in prayer, and in the Word, and fasting... so that we can experience the power of God in our lives... so that we can have a Word and the anointing to try and help people like you Frederik.

No matter how bad you might get on some people's last nerve with your doubting... God and I will love you no less and do everything within our power to bring you to your destiny in Christ.

However, Frederik... you must do something for yourself. You must become disciplined. There are a lot of rebellious children running throughout the world today - don't become one of them. Discipline yourself to seek God regardless of what your flesh cries out that it wants.

Again, God I ask that you would increase Frederik's faith.

Starting off little by little is not wrong. So read whatever chapters you can a day and pray what you can everyday, just be consistant about it and when you can pray and read more, do it.

Start practicing being diligent. Look where laziness has lead you so far, are you tired of it yet?

And seek the Lord, not the signs and wonders man. He want's your love. Are you seeking him because you love him with all your heart, soul and mind our just because you want the spiritual goodies? That's just like a man who wants to marry a woman for her money, and don't care to spend time with her, he just want's the goods.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I hate reading too. But I asked God to help me read and pray, and to love him and to love others. And he has. I mean my not yelling at you in these posts is proof that God works miracles LOL

Frederik, No one ever asked you to be Mr. Super Christian. Yet you want ALL the gifts, the things that God gives to those WHO GIVE BACK to Him.. The good majority of us more mature Christians know what you are going through in that, we knew it would take time to mature and grow. You are a baby Christian... you need the spiritual milk... You are NOT ready for the meat yet...
I pray now all the time... I have a running conversation with God & it is a blessing beyond blessings! Yes, I DO pray in tongues, and I thank God for that gift... I was a born again Christian for TEN years before I got that gift..., but you see I had backslid, even tho I still believed in God, still prayed,...I backslid... God knew it, He felt it... so did I. It has taken me almost 29 years to come full circle for where I believe I am suppose to be, and even then, I know God has SO MUCH MORE FOR ME!I would get close to God, then foolishness took me away & it was MY FAULT, not God's. I don;t fault God for anything, never have. I did spend a few years after my son was born disabled asking why God? But then I stopped asking God why, and started thanking Him for my son who was a blessing to me despite his disabilities.
You want from God? You give to God also.. The posts here have all been right... and you probably will get upset... but how can you ask a spiritual God, to give you FLESH confirmation, when you are not willing to do anything to deny that flesh? Think About it~

Posted by: Frederik

Don, I wish I had a good community where I could go to but my community sucks and there are not many in town and the others aren't better. I wish I had more contact with christians but I don't have.

I wish I had somebody who told me how to pray for hours etc.
As for fasting... where is the sense of feeling uncomfy ? I can as well cut myself, this is even more uncomfy, does this mean God will reward me for causing myself pain ? Your attitude reminds me of Luther, the monk he also thought that he had to macerate himself.
And not everybody has time to pray 3 hours a day, I think you should be able to see that.
When you really wanna help me then ask God for a prophecy cause I have to know what to do with my life.

Frederik -

Go ahead and keep making all the excuses you want.

>>And not everybody has time to pray 3 hours a day, I think you should be able to see that.<<

You have the time to do exactly what YOU want to do... after all I know that you were on here yesterday for more than three hours responding to this thread. Could you have not prayed for at least 30min to an hour?

As I said, you DO exactly what YOU want to do. The fact is YOU do not want to take the time to pray. You want to say a quick prayer and expect an even quicker response. We live in what I call a "microwave" society. We want everything in a minute.

However, there is some "time" that must be put into this thing. And again Frederik, you must become disciplined.

Fasting, yes it does bring discomfort and hunger... but it's not for pains sake that I do it. It is to bring my fleshly desires under subjection. It is to make sure that my fleshly desires do not rule me - but I rule them. It is to make sure that I empty myself of my desires so that will be room to be filled with the Spirit of God.

I really do want to help you - However, what good would a prophecy be to you - when you are at this time "doubting" what God has already said through His written word to you?

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

It's time to grow up Frederik - it's time to become a "disciple" of Christ.

Father, again I ask that you would increase Frederik's faith.

As I read your post I felt you pain and could do nothing but smile. As akward as it may sound. God is incredible and uses so many different ways to speak to us. I too have met people (and am guilty of it myself) who are so overzealous about wanting others to feel just a little bit of what they feel through the grace of the holy spirit that they would attack you or become discouraged when you simply could not see or feel what they feel yet. You passion for wanting more (hense the questioning) is incredible. Children enter into many things with a blind sort of innocense but they are also incredibly curious. They desire to have more then what they currently have. The word says that we must become as little children. From what I see you are on your way there. The only thing I have to say is that sometimes you have to listen for the whisper. Those who talk about God's grace as if it were finding it at the grocery store have been where you are. The only difference is we have learned to listen for the whisper. Not every time God comes to talk to us he sends roaring trumpets. Sometimes it can be as simple as someone replying to a post or the sun shining on our face. As long as we are on this earth at some given time we will question whether or not God is right. We will not always be able to walk across the water. Sometimes we will sink. At the very moment when it seems like life could not get any worse we never understand why God has chosen for this moment to occur; however, when we are able to look back on the events of our lives and the paths that God has chosen for us it is then that we understand. I too have been through many trails and did not understand why He just wouldn't answer and why I had to experience what I was going through. I look back now and I know that the path that he chose for me couldn't have been any more perfect. You are in my prayers. May you hear the whisper.

Don, you have your opinions and obviously you are into fasting and long time praying but I am not you, okay. I feel like you try to shove this down my throat and want me to become another you. Everybody is different. Christians don't even have to fast if they don't want to.
I would like to pray but when prayers aren't answered then the only thing which remains is religiousity. I don't wanna be religious and feel good even though nothing works.

Frederick,
The thing that remains when prayers are not answered is faith. God does not answer all of our prayers automatically when or how we want him to. He has His plan. As far as praying for the same thing, Jesus used several parables, including one in Luke 18 about people continuing to pray for the same things and waiting for God to answer in His way and time.

As far as fasting, you are correct in that there is no "requirement" to fast. But Jesus said, not IF you fast but WHEN you fast, implying that we should do it.

Matthew 6:16-18 16"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 17But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

fasting does not necessarily mean not eating either. For some, fasting is dangerous, but you can fast individual things such as caffeine or sugar or even media. You can fast for one meal. But the point of fasting is to spend that time whe you would be doing whatever, eating or on the Internet or whatever, in prayer and reading the Bible. That is what it really means to fast, and it does get easier. Just like what you said earlier, start out small and then you can work up to bigger things.

Perhaps you could spend the 15 minutes you might take in responding to the next things on here to read a Chapter of the Bible or to pray instead. It will help you more than complaining about why others have and you don't and why you "can't" do what others do. Get the focus off of yourself and on God.

Faith is good, but what are prayers which never get answered ?
Come on, they are nothing. Imagine Jesus without any wonders ! Imagine the bible without any wonders ! What's left is a very old history book ! Why do you all have the mentality that even unanswered prayers are absolutely okay ? Maybe you should ask God why your prayers aren't answered. Why am I the scapegoat just because I want answered prayers ?

A QUESTION FOR YOU FREDERIK, WHY DO YOU SPEND SO MUCH OF YOUR TIME ON HERE SEEDING DOUBT AND DISCUSSING THE LACK OF GOD'S BLESSINGS IN YOUR LIFE??

WHY DON'T YOU SPEND THAT TIME IN HIS PRESENCE, PRAISE HIM FOR THE MIGHTY GOD HE IS!! ASK HIM to give you the gifts of the Spirit, PEACE, JOY AND PATIENCE WHICH BUILDS CHARACTER!

EVERY TIME I GO ON HERE TO PRAY, THERE IS AT LEAST ONE PRAYER THAT HAS A TOTALLY NEGATIVE, SPITTING IN GOD'S FACE, TYPE OF HEADING, AND BEFORE I EVEN LOOK, I CAN PICK WHICH ONES ARE YOURS!!

Then, I look at the number of posts responding to you, trying to help you, and ALL your negative, cutting remarks to those same people!!

I HAVE TO WONDER WHAT YOU ARE TRULY HERE FOR! PEOPLE COME HERE TO RECEIVE HOPE, AND ALL YOUR POSTS DO IS SOW DOUBT!! IT'S NOT EVEN LIKE IT IS NEW, YOU'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG, LONG TIME!!

Ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to answer your questions and THEN OPEN THE WORD, ask Him to give you PEACE, SIT IN IT IN A QUIET PLACE, ask Him WHY you have this need to slap out at people who come here to pray for people who are REALLY IN NEED AND LOOKING FOR HELP!! Ask Him WHY you believe that you should be able to continue to draw His praying people into these DEBATES WITH YOU, when they actually came here to pray for people!! Ask Him if in fact, you are allowing the enemy to use you to DISTRACT His people from what they all came here to do!! OFFER HELP, PRAYERS AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO PEOPLE IN PAIN!!

I've looked back over your posts, and I don't believe you have EVER posted a prayer!! AM I WRONG????

Father, I come for Frederik, HOLY SPIRIT LEAD HIM INTO ALL TRUTH, GIVE HIM THE COURAGE TO SIT DOWN IN A QUIET PLACE AND REALLY BE OPEN TO WHAT YOU WANT TO SHOW HIM!! AMEN

Forever His,
Sharon

P.S. FREDERIK

I WILL NOT be opening any more of your threads! THIS IS BETWEEN YOU AND THE ONE TRUE GOD!! I LEAVE YOU IN HIS MOST CAPABLE HANDS!! WRESTLE WITH HIM AND YOU'LL GET SOMEWHERE!! I WILL BE FOCUSING ON PRAYING FOR PEOPLE WHO REALLY WANT HIS HELP!

Forever His,
Sharon

Frederick, I think that the best testimonies come from those who have the STORIES to tell. I can't wait to read your testimony. God, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I pray you will move in this man's life so he will know where his blessings come from. Frederick just try something. Confess your sins to the Lord. Write them out and read them to Him if you have to. Then, invite Jesus back into your heart and claim Him again as your Lord, and Savior. Then sit still and say out loud, "Praise God!" You'll feel as if He just came in and sat on your lap. Just try it. You are a wondeful person who will have a lot to share. Satan is in a major battle for you because he must know that God wants to use you in a mighty way. Let God have His way with you. Then please, share your story with us.

Bla bla bla, keep this to yourself !
I think many people here think it's cool to behave this way.
"Just leave him alone, he only wants to argue.... he doesn't want God... my time is too precious...I rather help others..."

* forgiving one

You really have to think about your behavior.
There are people which really would like to believe but they cannot because of many reasons.
I have been chatting with a friend via email for years now and he just cannot believe cause there are things which don't allow him to. Do you really think that saying something like: "Now repent of your unbelief !" does something for atheists which just cannot believe cause they don't know what we know ?
This won't do anything for them. Even debating with atheists won't make them become christians, without God and without God actually changing something in their lives nothing will happen.
People which are really exhausted or drug addicted come to God much easier cause they search him and they need hope, they are willing to accept him and he changes their lives. What do you think would happen if a drug addict came to God and nothing changes, he doesn't get rid of his addiction and nothing works at all even though Christ came into his life ? He would simply give up.
Without God's help it's simply not possible to convince atheists and I believe that they depend on God doing something for them, otherwise they won't become christians. There are people which would love to believe in God but they cannot and you have to ask them why and answer their questions and you have to be understanding and patient with them, you cannot simply tell them:" Repent of your unbelief ! The bible says it and that settles it !" That won't do anything for such people, but I don't think you understand that. When somebody still has doubts even though you told him your stuff then you become impatient and harsh and you accuse me of only wanting to argue. That's not okay. I don't just come here to cause trouble and to argue, you obviously don't have any empathy cause you don't understand how people feel which are exhausted and which want to believe but cannot because of certain problems.Don't be offended by this, I don't wanna hurt you but this is what I think.
And also trying to encourage the others not to talk to me anymore is simply impossible ! You really don't get it, do you ? If I was an atheist I wouldn't want to get into a conversation about God with you, cause you're impatient and harsh. If you're really as in touch with God as you claim you are then ask him about your behavior and wether it's correct cause I don't think it is. And by the way, I do talk to Jesus, what do you think ? But I don't hear this still small voice. You give people the impression that all they have to do is talk to Jesus and then he'll start talking like a waterfall....Come on, I have sat in my room being quiet for hours and nothing happened I asked God to talk to me and nothing happened.
Again, don't be offended, don't break into tears I'm just being blunt.

Frederick,
How can you ask your friend to believe when you don't? How can you share the grace and power of God when you have not allowed yourself to experience it? People are drawn to Christ becuase of the joy they see in those who know Him despite their circumstances. I hope that you don't complain to your friend about unanswered prayers and other things that you talk about on here.

Why do you spend your time arguing with people on here when the person you really need to be seeking to answer your questions is God? Seek Him, not us, to answer your questions. I understand your questions, but you don't seem to be getting anything from us. You need to seek for yourself.

Man, it's not that easy. God has never talked to me even though I asked him to, you give me the impression that finding God and having him talk to you is the easiest thing on earth...

No Frederik I don't want you to be like me... I want you to be like Him. That's what we are all striving for.

You said,
>>Christians don't even have to fast if they don't want to.<<

You are absolutely correct ... But even Jesus said, if you want the power that YOU Frederik are asking for... listen to what Jesus said...

Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Hello? Anybody home Frederik?

In another place... Whne they asked why their prayer wasn't answered Jesus responded....

Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Jesus Himself prayed and fasted... are you saying that you are better than He?

Well again... this is my last response this thread also... I would suggest to everyone that all Frederik at this point wants to do is argue... that is not what we are here for... do not be distracted from your purpose here and that is to pray.

Father, I place Frederik into your hands. I have given Words as instructed by the Spirit and trust now that they will accomplish the task for which they have been sent.

I also ask that you would forgive me Father if I have "argued" at anytime without cause and without your leading. I pray that the seed (Your Word) will fall on good ground within Frederik's heart and begin to grow... I also pray that in time... You would send those who will water... and then You will give the increase. Amen

Fredrik-

I am also one who longed for the understanding of the Bible, but even though, I didn't get it, I still believed in God! If you truly want to understand the Bible, take the Bible Courses that others have suggested, and/or go to a book store and look for hand books that help explain it in simple terms what you are reading.. You don't need to read a book a day, just a verse or two. Start slowly and keep it up, it'll come to you. God is working in your life or you wouldn't be reaching out today. Shut your mouth and open your heart to him, then you will hear him. Start slow at giving up things that you know is wrong, like your attitude that "You don't get it" Good luck, or God's Love? YOU CHOOSE..

Hi Frederik!!

YOu know what brother? I am so glad you responded back to me. This is the first time I see you taking a stand in a way you may not even realize. for you to talk with your friend over the years I believe means you have also spoken up about God in ways that even you may not realize. I see through your response you have more of a relationship with the Father than meets the eye. Frederik, you have sought Him long and hard, I know you believe in the one true God, what keeps you in a struggle to not give that one last ounce of doubt is beyond me. Yes, Frederik, I did have to repent of unbelief because the Word of God told me to. And you know what? I was on drugs and an alcoholic and the strong spirit filled friend i had prayed over me and I was instantly delivered from both after years of horrible living. One thing the Lord didnt take was my smoking habit. He told me He delivered me from such serious things that I had to give it up for HIM. Still He gave me strength to set it down but I didnt have the miraculous touch that time. Right now I am struggling with a frozen shoulder and I have had much prayer over it. I am in terrible pain from the way I have to be treated at therapy, it is literally the therapist yanking my arm back in to place, cortisone shots only made it worse.

Anyway, after much prayer from strong believers I still have this problem. I asked the Lord if my unbelief or anything stopped my healing. He really hasnt spoken to me on it yet He speaks to me on other issues. Paul in the Bible prayed for deliverance and Jesus said No, I give you mercy to withstand it. Okay, that is paraphrased. Point is I dont stop loving, trusting, or believing God because that shoulder is still not healed, I have been healed of a life threatening physical ailment so I know God can heal. I love HIM because Jesus died for me. Period. I wont argue His existance with anyone. Atheists, hmmm. I had a friend who claimed that and we talked about God all the time. One day this friend who was driving a bus lost his brakes and was running into a phone poll. He made the mistake of telling me he cried out oh my God!

I smiled and asked the brother well, who did you cry out to? You see my point being God revealed HIMSELF to this friend just when the friend was ready for HIM to be believed.

Dear Frederik, I ask you again, you have on your posts, want prayer big f is your man. To whom do you pray and to whom do you believe? I know you believe friend. There is a faith in you deep within. Just let it out. I love you brother, and took no offense to your response to me. I did ask the Lord all day if my word was truly for you or of myself. I know it was for you. Even Jesus in the N.T. got harsh with people at times to wake them up. He has done it to me through people and by His word also. Frederik, if you can pray for me in faith to Jesus' father God, then pray for me today as I am on my way to the doctor again about my shoulder. Pray I will learn to have patience always and I will continue to pray the LOrd will open your ears to HIS voice. Love you brother.

forgiven one.

Okay, when one is being lazy, is that being wise or foolish?

When you are in school, do the teachers reward a student for being foolish?
Or when someone is on the job, do they promote the foolish one to a higher position?

And how about what is says in the Bible about the wise and the foolish, what happens to them?

Until you discipline your flesh to be obedient, things will pretty much stay the same as they are now, or get even worse. I learned that the hard way. It is better to take up your cross daily and follow him, than it is to be lazy.

I mean God is all powerful and when somebody is all powerful then he has nobody who is on a par with him and this mean he can say of himself whatever he wants. In a dictatorship the dictator also tells of himself the best things and whoever doubts it will be punished.

If God were a mere dictator...which is in fact a small person who needs complete control... all his followers would behave in fear and as robots, and God would do no good to those who are not obedient to him. Yet, God is so much greater than we--as human beings with our own limitations of mind and imagination--can comprehend. For God sends rain for food and drink to the good and the evil alike. How many times before I even knew of him or his love or even desired to please him did he do things that kept me alive...I cannot count. More so, when all the world was still in the place of being his enemy and sinners against his will--he sent his ONE and ONLY son who willingly died in our place so that we could become His very own children and live and reign with him for eternity--If we choose to. A dictator does not allow dissent, but squelches it immediately to preserve his doctrine, his propaganda, and his control. Yet God allows men and women to choose what they will believe, who they will love, and how they will behave, and finally who they will obey--because Our God is love and desires our love, and in God's wisdom he knows that only in freedom can true love be born, grow and flourish. So God gives us that freedom in his infinite power, his infinite wisdom, his infinite love.

But be encouraged, I heard this in a sermon the other day Fred-
Phillippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
