I need advice !

Hi friends,I have a problem.I have been to a German christian forum and there was a discussion about homosexuality.I said that being gay is a sin, cause the bible says so but the other christians didn't agree and they said that I am intolerant and that nobody can expect gay christians to stay alone for their whole life and never have a loved o­ne.I just tried to say what the bible says and they call me intolerant. Who is right ? Did I say something wrong ? I don't wanna be intolerant, really ! I am simply insecure. When I try to defend what the bible says then everybody calls me intolerant and I feel bad, but supposing I hadn't defended the bible I'd also feel bad.How are we supposed to deal with homosexuals ? Aren't we allowed as christians to tell them that being gay is wrong and that they have to change and become straight ? Isn't this our duty to try to help these people ?What would Jesus say to a homosexual if he came to earth o­nce again ? Would he accept him being gay or would he rebuke him ?I want to be like Jesus and actually I thought that what I said was right but when the others called me ignorant I became insecure.What do you think ? What would your advice for a homosexual sound like and did I do something wrong ? I fear that God might be angry with me, cause I said that being gay is a sin. I mean I have enough own problems with sinning, but I didn't want to be arrogant I just wanted to help by saying the truth. It helps nobody when you simply accept the homosexuals and never tell them to change.And you know what's really strange ? There was a woman which had a gay 14 year old son and she said that he pastor told he that this way okay. How can a pastor say that being gay is okay ???I just don't get it. Please tell me what you'd have done and wether I said something wrong. Thanks.

The Bible.

All you can do is pray for them that God will give them a Spirit of Repentence. Only the Holy Spirit can touch them. Really it is not different than any sin. When a person is in the sin they will not see the truth until God gently leads them to the truth.

It was the right thing to say, Federik! I applaud your courage! If
homosexuals do not turn from their sin, they will not go to heaven. And I do not want anyone to go to hell! I Corinthians 6:9&10 lists all the sins that will keep you out of heaven, including homosexuality and sodomy.

Thank you for your replies.
I just cannot understand how a pastor can tell this mother that it's okay that her son is gay. You know on this site were also a few others which agreed with me, I think they were baptists, and this pastor told the mother of the homosexual son that baptists are often intolerant....
But can't a christian who is homosexual and doesn't refrain from it still go to heaven ? I mean we also srtruggle with sin and I do the same sins over and over again, so why shouldn't a homosexual christian be able to go to heaven ?
And what should a homosexual christian do ? Do you think that he can simply become straight if he wants to ? I am not sure wether this is possible.

Hi, Frederik -

You are growing in strength and wisdom. Yes, you said correct, Godly things.

People are going to hurl their insults at you, but don't ever take it personally when you are quoting Scripture. Their issue is with God. We are just here as God's representatives and ambassadors. If Jesus had to deal with the persecution for doing His Father's will, we also will face those trials. Remember, it's not the people you are battlling..

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. "
Ephesians 6:12

First, there is no condemnation in Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!  You are in training.  When in doubt, go to the Word.  Your confidence in Christ will be built up as you read the truth and stand in the truth; and yes, there will much criticism.  Remember, you are in this world but not of the world.  It is the truth that sets o­ne free and then the healing begins.  The word is very explicit about sin, homosexuality being o­ne of them.  Homosexuality is an abomination to God.  God does loves the sinner but not the sin. This is not an easy subject but it seems that the Lord has put this o­n your heart to lift up in prayer for the people involved. Just seek God's face and he will guide you.  Persavere, God's grace is sufficient.

Fredrick.... You aare right it is a Sin. But please do not forget....it is o­ne of many Sins. I think we as Christian we shut out so many chances to show Gods Love. If all they see is hate and condemnation....why should they listen to anything we have to say?
