My family

When I first became a Christian 2 years ago today (December 17, 2001) I kept it from my mom. I was baptized 3 months later. We were sitting outside a courtroom waiting to find out if I would be living with my mom again or being taken by Children's Aid for good. I told my mom that I was getting baptized on March 18, 2002, just 4 days after my 16th birthday, and she called me a disgrace to the family. I felt really bad and asked God to work in her.

A couple months later, I asked my brothers if they wanted to go to a church service with me. They wanted to go, but my mom wouldn't let them because the church was not a Catholic one. (That's why my mom called me a disgrace. Because I was being baptized out of Catholicism). The church I wanted to take them to was an inter-denominational church, and she told me if I ever mention the words, Jesus, Bible, church, Sunday School, youth group, and anything else relating to religion or christianity, I would never be able to talk to my brothers again. Now, this is the amazing thing. Ryan, now almost 14, and Dustin, 11, wanted to go to church, but they didn't want to disobey my mom at the same time. I gave them each a New Testament Bible for their birthdays, but now because of my mother's hatred towards any religion, even Catholicism, they don't want to know God. (Not so amazing)

Okay, the other day, I called her about the 21-month-old boy, Jaxson, who is suffering brain damage, and she told me not to worry and that all I could do was prayer and let God do the rest. I was about to have a heart attack from what she said. I think God is starting to work in her. I think she sees the change in me since I accepted Christ into my heart. So, this is my request. Please pray the God will continue to work in my mom for her salvation, and also to work in my step-father and my younger brothers. Ryan and Dustin need that thirst for God that they had before. I think that if they accept Christ, we might be able to get along alot better because we'll understand each other. So please, pray for the salvation of my mom, brothers and step-fathers.

Thank You.

Oh Father God, I come in Jesus' Holy Name, for Brandi and her family!

Oh Lord, I read one of her recent posts and I just thought, "HOW PROUD HER PARENTS MUST BE OF THIS WONDERFUL GIRL!" Then I read her other posts and realised that she does not have a Christian family to support her! Oh Lord God Almighty, I pray that You will give her Your strength, Your courage, Your wisdom, and Your patience with her family! Oh Lord, You have given Brandi the gift of compassion and I KNOW that You are going to bless MANY thru her!

Lord God, I come to plead for her family in Jesus' Name! Oh Father, draw them to You and Lord, undergird her with abundant faith and trust in You while You are doing this, because often, when we pray for Salvation of those we love, we experience a lot of spiritual opposition! Oh Father, hide Brandi in the shadow of Your wings, send angels to uphold her and minister to her as You work in each and every heart in her family!

Oh Father, she must be an awesome testimony of Who You truly are to this family! Lord, let them see YOU in her eyes, in her daily life, in her compassion, in her unconditional love for them! Lord God, I BIND all the enemy's plans to oppose every member of Brandi's family's Salvation and I LOOSE YOUR PERFECT WILL OVER EACH OF THEIR LIVES!! Father, You tell us in Your Word that whatever we bind and loose here on earth WILL BE bound and loosed in Heaven, WE THANK YOU FATHER FOR THAT PROMISE AND FOR ALL THAT YOU WENT THRU LORD JESUS TO RECONCILE US TO THE FATHER AND GIVE US THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYING HIS WILL INTO THE LIVES OF THOSE WE LOVE!!

WE PRAISE YOU ALMIGHTY GOD FOR THE UPCOMING SALVATION OF EVERY MEMBER OF BRANDI'S FAMILY!!

Forever His,
Sharon

Thank you so much. I have lived without my mother since I was 14. Children's Aid took my away and won't let me return except on visits. I have adopted a family within my church that consists of 7 sisters and 2 brothers, but they're basically only friends. They've given me alot of support when I stumble in my walk with Jesus. I want to be a light in my family, and I think that it's going to happen soon.
