A prayer for 2004...

Lord,
On this day that we celebrate Christ's birth with our families and friends, may we take time to thank you for the blessing your coming. And with a new year appearing on the Christian calendar, may we find the courage of your convictions in all our daily lives. May we learn patience, generosity, virtue and strength. May we open our hearts and minds to the unfamiliar and not feel threatened at thought of change. May we love with abandon, aid without fear, value without restraint. Teach us to live on without those who have passed away, to appreciate the pain of that loss, to to carry on in their memory. Teach us to welcome and recognize your word in our hearts and share your spirit with every breath.
