Besides the Bible how does God speak to you in your life on a daily basis

Besides the Bible how does God speak to you in your life on a daily basis, as in your relationship with Jesus, like in your personal time of prayer or just through out the day, there are lots of ways he speaks to us daily in are lives, and how do you discern its the voice of the Lord your hearing, is it in your head or spirit or where does he speak to you, and what are the characteristics of his voice when he speaks to you, in other words what is his voice made out of when he speaks to you, this is going to be an awesome subject for me so I hope this will bless a lot of people, This subject will be all about the voice of the Lord in are lives on a daily basis, we all know he speaks to us always through his word meaning the bible so lets, keep this a subject on how he speaks to us when we dont have are bibles God Bless love you all

How does God Speak to me? That is a good question... He speaks to me in so many different ways.

1. He speaks to me in the "still, quiet" voice that comes from inside my head or ears (I cannot distinguish where this is, I just know it is not my inner voice and I actually "hear" it). Usually He speaks in this voice for gentle admonishments, corrections or conversation. He has a nice chuckle.

2. He has startled me with the strength of His voice! Like when I was standing in a grocery line and was casually listening to two young men ahead of me discuss leaving for Iraq the next week. The Holy Spirit... ummm... Kicked me! and said LOUD ( I am really surprised no one else heard Him) "Pray for them, NOW" nearly jumped out of my skin! I pray for them when I see their names on my list. To my everlasting shame, I did not have the nerve to pray for them in public when God told me to. I will not do that again... the not doing it part.

3. He speaks to me in dreams. Example: I dreamed one night not too long ago of a friend, a worship leader, who looked at me from the stage and told me the God has named me Shiraz Hasya! I had to look it up, it is Hebrew for "Mighty Song & Protected by God" He said some other words in Hebrew also but I can only vaguely recall them since I do not speak Hebrew. He will make them known to me in His time.

4. He speaks to me in the wondering, innocent eyes of my 3 year old Grandson as he runs to pray for someone.

5. He speaks to me in the unconditional love of my little dogs. They teach me alot about God too. Although this may fall under #1 as an example since I hear His gentle voice at these times.

6. He speaks to me in my prayers, through the Holy Spirit... this is harder to define... I just know His voice.

His Voice ALWAYS comes from within but I hear it with my ears. He speaks in a voice that is not my inner voice and is never confusing. I always know when the voice is God.

The enemy's voice always comes from the outside and slices across my brain with a sense of foulness that can turn your stomach.

GOD speaks to me in soo many ways. Of course his word, is always there and that is his way of speaking to us. Also music, through worship music and christian music Jesus has spoken so dear to my heart. Always on time, that is our GOD. and of course through brothers and sisters in Christ. Some how some way, he makes hisself known and is there for us....he is never too far away.

Praise him for who he is!!!

The Lord speaks to me through others of course. Sometimes the source is so unexpected. He speaks to me through the posts on this board.

He uses my children to teach me all the time. My 10yr. old has an uncanny ability to be so direct and to the point. I know God is going to use him mightily. My daughter speaks with unshakable faith though she has gone through so much.

There is also just that "knowing". It is difficult to describe. It is like that small voice we talk about but even more so. Just knowing what to do or who to talk to without it being a thought from my own mind so to speak.

I also journal time to time. I write like a diary and talk to the Lord so I can look back on my questions and He does answer through me. I used to question whether or not it was of myself but when I read back on my journals I always see where it was just too profound to be of myself. I ask the Lord if He has a word for me and really I am just writing what that small voice conveys to me.

His voice brings gentle correction and hope for tomorrow. At times I was confused but I realize the enemy has sometimes tried to mimic the Lord but he brings back pain and casts my sorrows in my face. I know that is not of God.

The Lord also speaks to me through His music, the rain, snowflakes a beautiful sunset or sunrise. The sky is His pallet and this reminds me that He really enjoys beauty and all the more will eventually be revealed to us in heaven.

My best friend and love Jesus speaks to me in my spirit,it may sound sometimes to be in my head but it is not it is still in my spirit, its just at those times when it sounds like my head that I am hearing with my spiritual ears which are by my head, hearing his voice is so cool, the best time I hear his voice is when I am quiet in my personal time of prayer in silence, for then is it the perfect time to hear his voice when in silence, the characteristics of his voice are awesome made of peace, love and hapiness, Joy, power, and the anointing, he is very knowingfull of me and my ways and knows just the right thing to say at the exact right time, when I wake up in the morning and get ready to go to sleep he talks to me a lot, he is always keeping me lifted up and encouraged and has always done that even when I am real down, he is always working behind the scenes getting a plan together to lift me up and encourage me, he likes to just chat and talk about the things going on in the world and general life, he is a very personal God and loves being in our lives and talking with us, most of the time in spiritual warfare I will be in the heat of battle with him leading the way and can hear his voice but sometimes when my sword is going into demons I can get into the run up of things and not see where the Lord has moved and missed where he wanted me to be,I see also Jesus in my nephews and nieces when they start talking about prayer, in all the ruckess and storms going on in my life the most time I hear his voice is right in the middle of the storm, he is watching to see how I respond and act to the storms in other words if I am leaning on him when a storm hits or my own strength, I discern the voice of the Lord by his peace, if there is any confusion or anything that doesnt line up with peace that only he can give then its not him I try to dismiss what I am hearing if it does not have peace that only he can give behind the voice,I also discern his voice by the anointing, the anointing will always be present behind his voice, no matter what my greatest mission on earth is to know and learn all about his voice and him, yes his voice can seem to be a still small voice in your spirit but at the same time it can be very loud when in silence God Bless

When I have sined and feel distant from God, I can always faitly hear him calling for me. Sometimes he almost yelles in my head to get my attention and draw me close to him agian. He always says that he forgives me and sometimes gives me step by step insructions for living... like even simple things like house work.

You know, I have to admit that alot of time He just keeps knocking and knocking on my door. I know when God is talking to me and I am avoiding him. I know it. Because I feel a kind of heaviness in my heart.

I feel the uplifting of my spirit everytime he speaks to me.

He fills me with tingles as though he is tickling me.

He talks to me in my heart, my thoughts, my soul.

He talks to me in many ways, 24/7. Yes, I know it.

As a matter of fact, the one talk we had which I have always taken to my heart. It is embedded in my soul. Was the day, he came to comfort me when my mother died. He took me out of her intensive care room, because he knew that the pain was too unberable for me to see my mom leave. So, he took me into the chaple and I sat there in peace and tears. After, about 15 minutes, we walked outside the hospital. I heard his voice, and chimes ringing, at that time I looked at my watch it was 4:45 a.m., and I had a feeling of comfort that could not be described.

I went up to my mothers room, her door was closed, and the nurse came to me she said, "I paged you on the intercom speaker, where were you?" I did not hear a page, yet, I was in the chaple, and lounge where speakers are all over these rooms. HE knew, he knew I was going to fall apart. My one true friend my Mom left, and my whole family was at home. I was the only one there. I knew how my Lord was there. He made me strong......PRAISE YOU LORD, PRAISE YOU FATHER........PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME......

He speaks to me in many different ways too. Through a tiny little voice in my mind...His voice is soft and gentle. So soft i can barely hear it sometimes...only afterwards that i realise that it WAS the Lord speaking to me. The more i listen, the clearer and more distinct it becomes.
He can speak thru a song, or from something someone says, be they Christian or not.....or by giving me peace over a decision i have to make if it is in His will, otherwise i'll experience a bad feeling. He can speak thru a billboard even....sometimes words just spring out at me and i understand what the Lord wants to show me....even in certain situations i can see God telling me something, i mean by bringing me into a certain situation sos i can learn from it. He can speak thru my daughter, sometimes she can speak with such wisdon and understanding, that im amazed. Shes even had a dream where she was helping Jesus to paint the clouds ! The lord is so original, He can speak in ways i least expect it, and yet i know it's HIm.

I have never heard his voice audibly, but sometimes I get ideas and thoughts in my head that are not my own, and really strong convictions. But he speaks to me loud and clear through my dreams. I have had some pretty amazing dreams that my pastor told me were prophetic. Some of them have come to pass. I think that when I am asleep is the only time my mind isn't cluttered and He has my undivided attention.

Great subject Annointed! I was just sitting around feeling sorry for myself the last couple of days, and this and other postings are helping me to see just how really blessed and loved by Him that I am!

I don't know that I could list all the ways God speaks to me. One time I was praying about a situation and feeling really worn out and ready to give up, I let God know it and a few minutes later I was watching something on TV and I actually laughed out loud because there on the screen a man was wearing a tee shirt that said " Dreams do come true" and that is the same saying that is on this little thing the person I was praying about has.

The other day I was praying about my relationship and where to go with it, I noticed the song on the radio was about sticking it out in even the toughest times of a relationship ( typical country song lol ) but what I later realized was that 4 or 5 songs in a row had the exact same message, and that just isn't a coincidence.

Then there are times when obviously lost people will say things that are the most Spiritualy discerned things that they could only have gotten them from God, and it usually comes at just the right moment. Someone else mentioned billboards and one of my favorites is the Church sign sayings which seem to just speak to your situation at just the right time.

There is also the deep down feeling of something that you just have to do, not so much words in your head but something you just have to do.

With all of these though comes the need for discernment. If I dwell on them and I feel peace I know it is of God. There are times I let them roll around in my mind and I end up thinking of doing something that brings up feelings of anger, or hate or spite, I know then that it is not God. If I think about telling someone something that I feel they really should hear I imagine how the conversation would go, if it ends up sounding like something God would approve of then I go with it, if I end up saying something that would be hurtful or otherwise not Godly I tend to hold my tounge and wait till God gives me more directions.

Another thing I notice it at times when I am really struggling with something I may sit down and start watching a movie or TV program and it will just speak to the problem in my life. I can tell then that it was no coincidense that I happened to turn to that channel at that exact time. If we seek God's voice it will come, maybe not how we expect it but it will come.

Faith comes by hearing
hearing a word from God.

He speaks to me through His Word first and formost.
He speaks to me through friends that confirm His word
He speaks to me through circumstances that confirm His word
He speaks to me through messages or tapes that confirm His word
He speaks to me through prayers that confirm His word
He speaks to me through His prophets that confirm His word
He speaks to me through His ministers that confirm His word
He speaks to me through TV ministries that confirm His word
He speaks to me through His still small voice that confirm His word
He speaks to me through His angels that confirm His word
He speaks to me through My wife that confirms His word
He speaks to me through worshiping & praising Him He will confirm His word.

God always talks to me through His word.
That is the only way something can get done.
If it is not in the word it is not in faith.

As He gives me a word,
Then as he confirms the word
my spirit rises up and graps the word
once my spirit has taken the word nothing can stop that word.

I don't care what the report is because I have the word of God on it.

I have seen mountains of problems moved by the word.
I have seen the sick healed by the word
I have seen the impossible done by the word.

So I am always looking for God's Word.

Alot through pictures at the moment. They are usually coded, so that i have to think about them.
since coming to this site the Lord has woken me up to pray for someone with the loud ringing of a bell or a terrible urgency to log on and pray when I was fast asleep.
In major incidents in my life the lord has prepared me. for example when my husband had a car accident and broke his leg: A loud voice said to me, go back and say good bye because you won't get another chance. I stopped, amazed but I did and He was right I didn't get another chance.
I asked what would happen to my husband and opened a bible in a chapel, I didn't know where mine was as I wasn't what you would call a christian. I turned to a psalm and it talked about going down to a pit. I knew my husband would die. I knew it in my heart. A month later he was dead- from complications arising from a broken leg.
Almost a year before my children went to be with their father, God said to me they will be gone by the end of the year. There was nothing I could do. God was in control and I couldn't change what was meant to happen - even though I vehemently disagree with it.
Prophetic dreams are usually clearer than normal dreams or I have an overwhelming sense of urgency to give it to our pastor.
Sometimes His voice is small, sometimes His voice is accompanied by incredible deep love. Sometimes His voice is loud.

The enemys voice has a lisp on the ssss. he said to me once, you only have to deny him.
It is always important to test the word with the bible eg. is it loving?

I would love to experience God more. I don't think that I will ever have enough of Him.

God Speaks To Me In A Very Soft Peaceful Inner Voice...its Hard To Describe But I Know Its Him......he Also Speaks To Me Through The Bible....but Its So Awesome.....its Like I Might Be Praying And Praying For Something And Ill Just Open My Bible And Read The First Verses My Eyes See And It Will Answer My Questions.....and I Get So Excited And Go To Tell Someone Else And Show Them And I Either Cant Find It Or I Cant Explain It To Them...its Like The Words Come Alive When You Need To Hear A Message.
