Please can someone tell me how to study the Bible? Do I need to use other books along with the Bible? How do I start? I want to be able to read- study- and understand what I learn. I want to know truth and stay in it. I came out of false doctrine , and want to know that I know what I know without question!! From basics to revalations!!

Hi Carrol,
Bible study can be done with only your bible or with the help of other books. You can study individual books, passages, individuals, words, ideas, themes or anything. I am starting a word study on the "heart" tonight. All that I need is my bible and a concordance. My concordance is on a cd-rom that I bought at Wal-Mart for $8. It also features commentaries, greek and hebrew word study ability, topical guides and many bible translations. I know for a fact that the cd-rom I have is considered terrible compared to some others which have many other features, but it was an inexpensive start, and in short I like it. It is called Bible Collection Deluxe. There are some cd-roms out there that have virtually everything you would ever need, but their prices can be steep. If you have the finances for one, go for it. If you find one you like, research it, ask questions about it to make sure you will be happy with it. Also a FREE website called crosswalk.com has many of the same helps that are on cd-roms. If you do not have a computer at home, there are some inexpensive books such as Treasury of Scripture Knowledge or Naves Topical Guide that can get you going in the right direction. Commentaries can be very helpful in deciphering tough passages or ideas found in the bible. As I don't know your denomination, I will not recommend one here but book stores have many. If you don't have the financial means, simply reading a passage carefully and slowly and then writing down your thoughts on it and discussing it with your pastor is an easy way too. Bible study is the easiest way to truly know our Lord and Savior and I encourage you to start slowly and gradually build up your study. Hope this helps, Taylor

Hello!
Pray in the Spirit! Welcome the Holy Spiirit t lead you each and
every day. Fixing your eye on Jesus, pray the Bible OUTLOUD.
Ask the Holy Spiirit to help you stay on track . Believe what
you read and as He is your Comforter and teacher, that is all you
need for going deep in the Spirit. For fellowship you need 'fellows'
that believe the same way you do! Find them! We grow as
iron sharpens iron , we find our way together not as lone wolves. There is a million books, tapes, videos etc. but we need each other and
we need to go deep into th spiritual to be with Jesus in INTIMACY.
oH lORD, THAT IS WHAT i PRAY FOR THIS ONE.
