I want to give, but how can I give what I don't have?

I need to better understand what I am to do as a christian when it comes to giving to my church or any christian organization. I have been having a lot of problems with my finances. I continue to be overdrawn and am currently over $300.00 due to the x-mas rush. I know I will be back on track on the 5th, but I would like to give back and still be able to pay my bills. I'm thinking I just need to give first and know that God will provide for me. Can someone help me with this. Thank you

want me to tell you something cool I gave 20 dollars to this ministry on this board and didnt have the money either and probably never wil but oh well whats more improtant your credit report or obeying God, so I obeyed God and Gave and sowed a seed of 20 dollars and you no what wasnt even really expecting much of a return but I got almost 500 hundred times fold in return on a check to be put into my account, now you dont think that was God hahahah come on I was in shock that was awesome he takes care of his kids
