I just got this in tell me what you think.

What is the meaning of Daniel 11:29? It says: "At the time appointed He shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter." (11:29, AV) How do we know that Daniel is describing Russia here? How do we know that it is about the future?  hemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />>>

 >>

The context describes the rivalry over the Near East, which had started with the end of Alexander the Great’s empire. (Daniel 11:4) But the rivalry does not end in ancient times. It will proceed till the time of the end. (Daniel 11:40) It is really interesting what this chapter says about the near future.>>

   >>

If we want to understand correctly all of these details, we should thoroughly analyze the direct context. It says: "And both these kings, their hearts (will be) to do mischief, and at one table (they) will speak a lie; but exalt not themselves, for yet (the) finish to (the) appointed time". (11:27, Literal translation)    >>

What does that sentence mean: "for yet (the) finish [a period] to (the) appointed time"? It certainly suggests that the verse does not concern the ancient times. It describes the end of a period of time right before the appointed time. >>

How do we know that the passage describes Russia and Anglo-America? At the end of XIX century England began to control territories, which formerly belonged to Ptolemy I – the ancient "king of the south". At the same time Russia spreads its influences over the lands, which previously belonged to Seleucus I Nicator - the ancient "king of the north". Since then Anglo-America and Russia have been rivaling to influence that region of the world.>>

                        >>

It is not difficult to see, that when Jesus spoke about the end of this system, as quoted of 11-th chapter Book of Daniel. For example when he said: "For there will arise - nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom", he rendered it to the Book of Daniel 11:29,30, which reads: "At (the) appointed time (he) will return, and will enter into (the) south. But will not be as (the) former or as (the) latter. For will come against him (the) dwellers of coastlands of Kittim, and (he) will be oppressed [will be humbled, LXX] and return". (Literal translation) >>

 >>

The latter statements Jesus’ and Daniel’s are alike.>>

 >>

Matthew 24:7 = Daniel 11:29,30 = WW III >>

Matthew 24:15 = Daniel 11:31 = "trampling of Jerusalem" [the great tribulation of Christian minorities]   >>

Matthew 24:29 = Daniel 11:40 = WW IV >>

 >>

How do we know that the war described in Dan. 11:29,30 is the Third World War?  Daniel at 11:28 pictures the events after WW II. It says: "And (he) ["the king of the north"] will go back (to) his land with great wealth; and his heart (will be) against the holy covenant; and will act effectively; and turned back to his own land." (Literal translation) The passage contains enough details, which allow for a correct interpretation. >>

 >>

Daniel foretells here that "the king of the north" [Russia] will not only be successful in WW II, but also that he returns to his land with a great amount of goods. If only Hitler had listened to Mussolini and the Japanese, who in 1943 advised him to stop military actions, the prophetic detail would have never been fulfilled. >>

 >>

What does the Bible say about the events right before the military clash of Russia and the West? The first, but distant signal of near confrontation would be the return of the troops of "the king of the north" to his own land. (Daniel 11:28b) This detail has already been fulfilled.>>

Next signal of the near confrontation will be the deployment of Russian troops behind the border of Russia again. (Daniel 11:29a) >>

This detail has not begun to be fulfilled.     >>

The direct reason of confrontation will be the entry of Russian troops into the south.>>

When "the king of north" enters into the south "will come against him the dwellers of coastlands of Kittim". "The dwellers of coastlands of Kittim" are the dwellers of Middle and West Europe.>>

 >>

What will be the outcome of the confrontation? "The king of the north" will be humbled and returns. But he will not make the mistake, Hitler did. He will not fight till his death, so he will not be destroyed, but only humiliated.     >>

 >>

"The king of the north" will rebuild his power after that war very quickly, and "he will act successfully". (Daniel 11:30b) An atheist dictator will rule over Russia later. This time "the king of the north" will really prepare his army for the next world war. (Daniel 11:36-39)   >>

 >>

After WW III a world government will appear from the people. (Rev.13:1,7b) But, like the United Nations Organization it will fail to be the hope of the world. It won’t prevent the world from WW IV, in which "king of the south" will be humiliated. (Daniel 11:40; Rev.13:3) "The king of the south" will have lost the position of super power since then. He will be the "false prophet". (Rev.13:11) He will make the people create a copy of the world government, which will be wounded by the sword during WW IV. (Rev.13:14) The "creation" will receive more power than the previous one. (Rev.17:17) But, WW V will not break out. Of course, it does not mean that there will be a real peace and security.>>

Later on the world government will attack "Babylon the Great" i.e. the biggest churches which by cooperation with the kings of the world betrayed God. (Rev.17:1,2,16) After that "the king of the north" will attack those who serve the true God (Israel). And it will be the end of his.  (Daniel 11:45)>>

 >>

After all this Jesus begins ruling over the world. There will be no war. (Isa.2:4) The victims of all wars and other people will rise from the dead. Death will be no more. The Earth becomes a paradise. (Rev.21:4)  >>

 >>

11. The spirit is poured out upon people who belong to Jesus. (Revelation 11:11-13) The sons of the kingdom will be gathered and unified at that time. (Matthew 13:30b; Eph.1:9,10)   >>

Uh, this is scary stuff....

But I bet WW 3 will not take place too soon and even if it does I don't care.
