New design

Just curious what everyone thinks of the new homepage design.
I am working on a way to make the front page much smaller and faster loading.

If most people prefer this look, I will fix the prayer board, and photo gallery to match it.

Ummmmm...

Which one is it? I got 2 different designs. One when I came to the site seemed to be just a single list of articles and it looked very...MSNish... The second one was after I got signed into the site and prayer board and went back to the Home and it was entirely different! I'm confused!

On the one I have now, I have just one request... can you please make the Prayer Request box bigger? What I mean is, can you make it list more requests?

wow... what a difference! I haven't seen more than one design...but I would agree with Carol...let us see more prayer requests if possible... I do really like the change-surprised me to see it! I was stuck in a pm due to kids bedtimes & kids waking up, not going to sleep..so was a real surprise to see the new hone look!

Hi Again Shawn:

I don't mean to be a nag but the Request Board on the home page is a tool we all use and I just noticed that it is missing the space for number of posts as well as being too small. The rest of it is nice, I just use the Request Board more than any other tool. Would you please fix it?

I changed it to show the last 12 posts... anymore than that and the homepage just gets huge again, which is what I am trying to avoid.

I put a link underneath the last 12 posts on the homepage, that will take you to a page that shows the last 100 posts.

Click Here in order to see all of the posts for the last 24 hours.

As I get time, I am going to change the prayer board to match the rest of the site. At that time, I will also put a new link on the prayer board to search through the last 24 hours for all new prayer requests.

As I get time this week, I am going to make the prayer board match the look and feel of the rest of the website. It's just a matter of time is all. There are not nearly enough hours in the day is all, especially when commuting to church each night.

I changed homepage as requested to show the last 12 requests. I also put a link underneath them to show you the last 100 prayer requests.

THANK YOU!!! for putting the 100 posts page up!

You can probably shrink the one on the home page down to save some space as long as you make a link from the Prayer Board to the 100 Posts page and we would all be happy as hogs in clover!

I am glad it is working out better for you and our other members.
I would venture to say that within the next month the prayer board will be changed to match. I am only waiting untill they get out of the "beta" stage and go final with their software before going through the huge upgrade process. Would hate to upgrade to the new system, then have to turn around in a few weeks and do it all over again.
Any suggestions that our members may have to make things flow smoother are more than welcome. I am always on the hunt to improve the website, and add new features to make it more functionable and user friendly. Just yesterday I added the "Live Help" system which is on the top of the page. That alone should allow me to help out anyone with login issues or any other problem.
Also: The chat system should be final sometime this week. I am only waiting for additional financing to come in to purchase the application. At that point I will turn the chat into a live Bible study area. Now that should be really fun.

yeah why dont you do this and have a competition and see who can make the coolest anointed.net logo for the prayer board at the top would be fun and cool, also If there is any way to put on the Homepage a button where we can Just press it and listen to worship music either from ripped cd's like from darlene zchsech or a 24/7 radio worship station, also I know how to make some cool buttons with names of whatever you want printed on them if you need help with that

I intentionally stayed away from the "live" music concept. Actually we used to have it on the top right button, but i deactivated it. The reason is simple: due to the new laws reguarding net broadcasts, I would have to keep track of every song that every listener tuned into, and then forward 7c per listener per song, or something like that to the RIAA. Obviously that is not something I am capable of doing, nor willing to do at this point in time. Believe me, music is one of my major hobbies, and I would love to share live music throughout this website. It's just that legally, there are to many questions to still be answered before I am going to take that leap.

as to the logo: Well, dad made this one, and he is seriously in love with it. Actually I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate it into the homepages as well. Once our prayer board software becomes final, and not in the current beta stages, I will change the entire look of the prayer board to match the rest of the site. Expected timeframe is around 30 days or so.

I like it much better! It is eaiser to get around, and it looks great!
