Please help me pray for our son Robbie. He is five and has been diagnosed with autisim and also has a seizure disorder. Please pray for God to do a miracle in his life. Robbie is verbal, but his language is very limited. Robbie is extremely busy and wakes often in the night and runs around the house for hours at a time, but he still wakes up at 7 no matter how little sleep he has gotten. We are beliveing God for a miracle. Help us pray. Please pray for God to continue to give us strenth and energy to keep up with him. Please also pray for someone to come alongside of us to help care for him. We have a personal care provider during the week but on the weekends we have no one. The weekends is when we need the most help because we are very busy doing ministry on the weekends. On Mondays we are so exahusted that we don't do much of anything.Raising Robbie is hard and often times lonely. We like to have friends over but often can not because it is too overstimulating for him. Please keep us in your prayers

Angela,

You are the second poster this week to describe this. The other poster Kelly also has a 5 year old with Autism and Epilepsy, and so do I, my daughter Caitlin is 5 as well. I can perfectly relate to the challenges here. My daughter does the same thing as Robbie, often waking in the night and running around, and wreaking havoc in our family routine. It is quite normal in Autism for children to have disruptions in normal sleep routines. Behavior issues are a biggie at our house, Most of the time our little "Caity-Did" (We nicknamed her this cause it seems she has always "did" something) is a really good girl as long as we follow strict routines, however when the routines change everything becomes off balance with her and she reacts to this stress in her life through her behavior. A very good example of this was when we moved last year and she switched to another Pre-K program, she went from a class of 8 children to 20 and she really acted out, and even took down a little boy in her new class who was 20 pounds heavier than her!!! Some days this could mean overturning heavy furniture (Very dangerous!) in a rage, hitting her siblings or other children in her Pre-K class, or destroying property. She has also been known to wander off when she becomes upset and without warning or us knowing she has once walked a half mile away from our home, to my relief she was okay!!! It is very scary at times, and frustrating too coping with the problems. Caitlin also has a seizure disorder (Partial-Complex Petit-Mal) and they say there is abnormal activity in brain activity in her Right temporal lobe, but has no brain damage. She is still not yet potty trained (Turned 5 Oct 25) due to problems with her intestines.(Possible Celiac disease they are running tests) Caitlin is a verbal child, (I think that prayers have helped greatly) and is extremely smart, yet behavior wise she is developmentally like a 2 or 3 year old, and her coping skills are almost nill. I basically want you to know that I am here for you, if you need someone to relate to what you are going through and that you are also in my prayers. I am not sure what State you are in but in my state of Florida and there are other states too, they have an organization called CARD (Centers for Autism and Related Disorders) that can hook you up with a tremendous amount of resources. I am so happy with them, they have been very helpful. Best of all it is free to Join as long as you have a doctors diagnosis of PDD-NOS, Autism, Aspergers, Childhood Disgenerative Disorder, Retts, and others. I am praying for Robbie and for you Angela, God Bless You!!!!

Lord,

We lift up little Robbie to you and ask for you to heal him, Please touch his little body and make him a new person. Please let him make progress in all areas and let his doctors and family be astounded by how well he does. I Thank-you most Heavenly Father for hearing our prayers for him and his family and also ask for you to bless each of them. In agreement for this I ask this prayer in Jesus Holy and Precious Name, Lord. Amen and Amen!!!

Lord please give Angela and her family the grace and patience they will need dealing with autism. Please help Robbie to learn how to deal with this, and help him to sleep at night so the family can rest as well.....amen

Amen, thank you Lord. I agree as well for his complete healing. Take away the feelings of lonliness for him and give him joy and peace. Be with the rest of the family and friends, give them strength in Jesus name.
