There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
And he was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.
He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target.
And getting a little discouraged; he headed back to dinner.
As he was walking back he saw grandma's pet duck.Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved.
In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the woodpile, only to see his sister watching.
Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.
After lunch that day Grandma said, Sally, let's wash the dishes.
But Sally said, Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.
Then she whispered to him,
Remember the duck?
So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing
and Grandma said, I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.
But Sally just smiled and said, Well, that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help."
She whispered again, Remember the duck?
So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's
he finally couldn't stand it any longer.
He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.
Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said,
Sweetheart, I know. You see I was sitting at the window
and I saw the whole thing. But because I love you, I forgave you.
I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.
Thought for the day: whatever is in your past,
whatever you have done and the
enemy keeps throwing it up in your face
(lying, debt, fear, hatred, anger, lack of forgiveness, bitterness, etc.)
whatever it is,
you need to know that Jesus Christ was sitting at the window
and He saw the whole thing.
He wants us to know that He loves us and that we are forgiven.
As long as we repented and confessed our sin.
He's just wondering how long you will let the enemy make a slave of you.
The great thing about God is that He not only forgives you, but He forgets.

The Word of God
He who conceals his sins does not prosper;
but
whoever confesses and renounces them
finds mercy. (Proverb 28:13)
If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins,
and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
(The Lord says) I, even
I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake,
and remember your sins no more . (Isaiah 43:25)
As far as the east is from the west, so far has
He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry for ever, but delight to show mercy.
You will again have compassion on us;
You will tread our sins underfoot and
hurl all our iniquities into the depth of the sea.
(Micah 2:18,19)
Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise.
Though I set in the darkness, The Lord will be my light.
Because I have sinned against Him, I will bear the Lord's wrath,
until He pleads my case and establish my right.
He will bring me out into the light; I will see His righteousness.
(Micah 7:8, 9)
For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again. (Proverbs 24:16)
