When trying to upload a picture to the photo gallery, it tells me my piciture exceeds the 500kb limint. How do I find kb on my pic in my file? I serached options and every other possible thing but nothing tells me the kb of my pic. Is this SIZE? In other words, could you tell me the size my picuture needs to be to be under 500kb? I am using "Microsoft Picture It!" if that is any help in advising me.

It is saying your photo is 1/2 megs in size.
You must find a simple photo editer and resave it to a smaller size.

Try and save it as a jpg
try and keep it about 50kp not 500

So 1/2 megs is too big? Are megs, megabytes? I don't understand the lingo, and when I'm actually working with the picture to resizee it, nothing indicates what k or megabytes it is. Jedijeb says if I rest on the phtoto, it will tell me and it needs to be 60k or so. But when I use jpg (also what jedi suggested), I only get that magnifying glass that makes it bigger. It will not make it smaller. Cropping just cuts part of the picture off. How do I resize it? I asked over in the fellowship thead, too, because I thought maybe they had used "Picture It!" If you have any suggestions on a better program to use, let me know. Would the "thumbnail" image work, because it's so small? Sorry to be a bother, but once I want to figure something out, I'm really determined. I thought of something radical! I think my sister left the Mellinium computer book with me. Maybe that can clear up my question!!! When in doubt, read the instructions....

I am not sure what software you are using. I personally use photoshop. In that program at least, when I open a photo, I can then choose to "save for web" and determine the picture size and filesize quite easilly.
yes we are speaking of 1/2Megabyte in the pic sizes, which is actually a HUGE filesize for a picture on the web. If you let me know what software you are using, I will try to set it up myself and let you know how to do it.

My picture says is it 257KB, so it's under the limit for the photo gallery. I am using Microsoft "Picture It!" I can't seem to get to a place that helps me resize the pic, but since it's not too high in KB, I shouldn't have to.

Email the pic to me and I will take a look at it.
If it need fixing I will fix it.

Really? Thankyou! Then, when you do, you email it back to me and I can upload from my eamils? Or can I put it into a Word Document from my emails and upload it from there? When I rest on the pic, there's an option to save it, right? And that makes it a jpg image in Word?
Thanks for all your help. Once you look at it, can you explain what I was doing wrong, as I would like to upload other pics?

I am having trouble emailing the picture; they kept telling me "This message has not been sent," but would not send it. I have to rest up for work now, so will try later.
