The Fear of the Lord
Rewards For Fearing the Lord
(1) Fear the Lord and He will deliver you out of the hands of the enemy
II Ki 17:39 But the LORD your God you shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
(2) If you fear the Lord He will: (a) teach you his ways (b) soul shall be at ease (c) seed shall inherit the earth (d) the secret of the Lord is with you (e) He shall show you His covenant
Ps 25:12-14 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
(3) Goodness is laid up for those who fear Him.
Ps 31:19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
(4) The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him.
Ps 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy...
(5) The angel of the Lord camps about those that fear Him and delivers them. There is no want in those that fear Him.
Ps 34:7-9 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, you his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
(6) He gives a banner to those that fear Him.
Ps 60:4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
(7) His glory will dwell in your land
Ps 85:9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
(8) He unites our hearts as we fear Him.
Ps 86:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
(9) Great is His mercy towards those that fear Him.
Luke 1:50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
(10) He gives meat to those that fear Him.
Ps 111:5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
(11) When you walk in God's ways and fear the Lord , you will be blessed.
Ps 128:1-5 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
(12) God will fulfill the desire of those that fear Him. He will hear their cry and save them.
Ps 145:19 He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
(13) The Lord takes pleasure in those that fear Him.
Ps 147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
(14) By fearing the Lord, we depart from evil
Prov 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
(15) As you fear the Lord, you receive instruction.
Zeph 3:7a I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off.....
(16) The Lord hears those that fear Him. He writes it down in a book of remembrance.
Mal. 3:16-17 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
(17) Fear His name and the Sun of righteousness will arise with healing in His wings.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
