negative attention

I heard Janet Jackson's publicist today say that negative attention is better than no attention.

Just what are we feeding here? They WANT the petitions, they WANT the letters, they WANT to hear that people are interested in what she is or is not doing whether it is right or wrong...she gets money everytime her name is mentioned.

So, what are we to do now? In a weird sort of way we are doing more to support this craziness than we are stopping it. It will start a chain reaction...other "performers" are going to see how all this additional press is benefiting to Janet, and may follow in her footsteps. I mean after all aren't they all eccentric and enjoy attention?

talena, absolutly they love the attention however we have to take a stand and not ignore this garbage! eventually the networks and promoters of this stuff will start to feel it in thier almighty wallets and sponcers will pull out of thier programs.we can not give up. shorty term it might be in thier favor but in the long run who knows maybe just maybe they will get enough people saying enough is enough and we can turn the tide. it might be a battle but it is worth it. love kassy

I agree that they take attention any way they can get it. Maybe the only way we can truely have an affect is to work through our churches instead of the public airways and unite Christians out there to just "Turn Off'. If we could just all of a sudden have their viewership drop because we all turn off the things which are wrong without them expecting it or planning for it we could make an impact. Don't know, just an idea.
