We were created for God's pleasure not mans.
Created for the Pleasure of God- We were created for Gods pleasure
Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord,
to receive glory and honour and power:
for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
- Faith pleases God
Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death;
and was not found,
because God had translated him:
for before his translation he had this testimony,
that he pleased God. 11:6
But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
- HOW DO WE GET FAITH TO PLEASE GOD
Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God.
- The Flesh cannot please God
Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God:
for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8:8
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 8:9
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,
if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 8:10
And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin;
but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies
by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
- Please God and be blessed WITH SUPER ABUNDANCE
I Thessalonians 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren,
and exhort [you] by the Lord Jesus,
that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk
and to please God,
[so] ye would abound more and more.
(abound = super abundance)
- The Father was pleased with Jesus
Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold,
a bright cloud overshadowed them:
and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
- Preaching pleases God
I Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
- Praise pleases God
Hebrews 13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp,
bearing his reproach. 13:14
For here have we no continuing city,
but we seek one to come. 13:15
By him therefore
let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,
that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name. 13:16
But to do good and to communicate forget not:
for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
- Your walk pleases God
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it],
do not cease to pray for you,
and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will
in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing,
being fruitful in every good work,
and increasing in the knowledge of God;
- Obedience is pleasing to God again
I John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him,
because we keep his commandments,
and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
- Fear of the Lord pleases God
Psalms 147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
- God is pleased with us
Psalms 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
- Prosperity pleases God
Psalms 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad,
that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually,
Let the LORD be magnified,
which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Prosperity = shalome Peace and health fo his servants
One of the most familiar of all Bible verses is John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." And the amazing thing about this verse is that God has loved the world.
- Do you know what the world is? Yes, it is planet earth spinning through space. And it is all the people on planet earth. But if you stop there, you miss the point.
You see, the world is a spiritual kingdom which is contrary to God. I John 2:15-16 warns, "Do not love the world. . . .
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father." Yes, the world and what it contains is contrary to God, it is hostile toward God.
And so James 4:4 urges, "Whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." Imagine, according to the Bible, the world is the enemy of God.
This is what makes John 3:16 so amazing, so powerful. God has loved His enemy, the world which has rejected Him, rebelled against Him and spurned Him. God loved the world so much that He sent His Son into enemy territory to reclaim hostile people like you and me. This is God's love.
- But also, John 3:16 tells you how to respond to God's love. It says God "gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." Do you embrace God's love? Do you trust in Jesus Christ?
It pleases God when you can show His Love to those who hate you
