PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER
REQUESTS FOR
FEBRUARY 19, 2004
|
Pray for the President as he meets with 9-11 Commission Chair Kean and Vice Chair Hamilton. He will discuss information relevant to the Commission's work, providing testimony that will help with their mission.
Pray for the President as he continues to work with others to develop democracy throughout the Middle East. Pray for leaders to step forward and lead their countries toward democracy and peace.
Pray for the President and his team in the effort to codify marriage as being between one man and one woman. As more than 2,000 couples have now been wed and hundreds continue to flock to San Francisco for unlawful unions, pray that the legal questions surrounding this practice will be soundly answered, resulting in a godly recognition of the sanctity of marriage as being between one man and one woman. Pray that a spirit of moral decency will arise in America.
Pray for General David W. Barno, commander of American forces in Afghanistan, as he launches a new strategic initiative. The plan seeks to gather information on guerrilla activity--particularly Al Qaeda--by moving troops into Afghan villages where closer ties can be forged between troops and villagers. Pray for this initiative to succeed and pray for the protection of the soldiers who will be living in Afghan communities.
Pray for the release of vital intelligence that will lead to the capture of Al Qaeda operatives and the arrest of Osama Bin Laden.
Pray for the ongoing efforts to rebuild Afghanistan, and for the American military and civilian efforts in that nation, as they link with President Hamid Karzai to do good for the people of Afghanistan. Pray for the protection of our troops and of the many relief workers who reach out with goodness and help. Pray that God's love will be blatantly evident in these efforts.
Pray for Ambassador Paul Bremer as he works to strengthen the provisional government of Iraq. Pray for all parties involved as they work toward the June 30 deadline when American officials will withdraw.
Pray for the President as he meets with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on February 27. The two allied leaders will discuss important global issues including the effort to bring peace and democracy to Afghanistan and the forging of closer U.S.-European relations.
Pray for the new film The Passion of the Christ as it debuts this week. Pray that many lives will be touched and brought into relationship with Jesus Christ through the powerful message of the film.
Pray for our troops as they continue to serve, rebuilding and protecting Iraq. Pray also for all American troops around the world--that God will guard and guide them with His protection and care.
