Common Sense and Support

I love this ministry. As someone who works all day and tends to read and study at night, I find it refreshing to end my day by praying for others and posting prayer if needed. I do have three important concerns:

1) Some people reply to posts without reading them. This morning I noticed a reply that had nothing to do with the request. It was assumptive and never addressed the persons prayer need. I was hurt for the person posting. These are really personal and important to the person or they wouldn't be posting them. It just simply filled in blanks that were not even there. Is there a way to encourage people to read the posts and respond clearly?

2) I always try to pray the WORD over peoples needs. If at all possible. Is there a website or an area where one can find scripture when needed?

3) Is there a way to support this ministry? Right now there is a posting at the top of each page about the cost.

Thank you for this valuable ministry. I am constantly amazed and blessed by the power of prayer.

Thank you about your inquiry about supporting our website. At the moment the only real way to financially help out is on the homepage left hand side donation box.
You are able to send donations through paypal, which go directly to us.

For approx the past month I have been working on a new "partners" section where our members can subscribe to support us monthly. The system itself is actually stable and ready to use. I am just in the process of adding in additional content, such as dad's sermon notes, audio tapes, and revival broadcast archives to the section as a kind of "thank you" for our partners. I hope to have it finished sometime in march.
This is in no way meant to be any type of money making scheme or anything like that. It's more of a way to say thank you for supporting us, and to help with the thousands that we spend each month on this website.
As we don't really talk about it, I really doubt that 90% of our members even realize that running a website isn't free. Actually it's one of the most expensive aspects to our ministry.
We are growing so fast, and have become so popular that every single hosting facility that I spoke to today was either not interested in our business, or was so terribly expensive that at the moment it's cost prohibitive.
To put it in perspective:
When we were running video broadcasts each night of the services, say there was an avg. of 150 people watching live. Say each person was costing us approx $1.50 for the service. That comes to over $200/day just for the broadcasts alone. That is a huge part as to why we've gone to audio broadcasts for now.
This is exactly why I am so excited about the new partner system. Your monthly support will directly allow people to come and tune in to hear the revival services live, to enter their prayer requests, and to receive solid teaching on prayer.

Nessa, Yes, I'm sure it's true that some people seem to not read the posts through before answering them. I can see that it could cause pain to the seeker and make it seem a careless response. I can only speak for myself when I assure you that I will be perticularly careful from now on.
as for the second question, yes there is a place to seach the word for help in your replies. try this:

sorry, I'm not very good at adding links and stuff like that. hope it worked and I hope it will help you. Thank you for your prayers and participation in our community.

I've also had help from www.crosswalk.com for searching scripture.
