First, I want to start by saying that I believe every word of the Bible to be truth (Although I haven't actually read every word). I am still young in my faith but God is daily making my faith grow. Those things being said I can get to my question. According to timelines of the Bible, they show that Adam and Eve lived in apx. 2400 B.C.. Science however has shown that the oldest known human being was between 3 and 3.6 million years ago. Also, the age of the earth according to science is apx. 4.5 billion years old. I have heard that some people believe that the actual "days" mentioned of God creating earth were in actuality years or even millions of years. Also the Bible says that Cain went to the land of Nod and married a woman from there. Where than did those people come from? And, what about dinosaurs? They lived millions of years ago. These questions have been bothering me for some time now. In no way do I doubt the writings in the Bible, I just am confused as to the difference in years. If any of you can shed some light on these things, I would greatly appreciate it.
God bless you all.

The listing of the days in Genesis specifically saying when God created what, is there for us basically to see the events as they took place and in what order.
Man uses time periods-God doesn't. To Him, there is no division of weeks, hours, months-only separation of night and day.
Creatures were made before man in the order stated in Genesis.
It is not stated how many years between creatures and man there were.
God has no concept of time because He IS time and infinity.
So first the earth, heavens, water, vegetation, dinos/creatures, then last us.
No number of years spanding all this available.
God is pouring out His wisdom more and more to us now and man is trying hard to figure it all out.
Better to me just to know it's all done and not to really worry too much about it.
There are more than enough things to ponder each day just to survive so just be at peace and strive for a closer walk with God.
All these other things will be explained to you one day when you see Him face to face!
God bless you in your new walk with Him!
