THE SON OF PERDITION
Means the Son of Satan
Is Judas Iscariot the Son of Perdition the bible says he is?
Did Judas go to hell, you read the verses below and tell me.

JOHN 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
PERDITION - Strong's Greek word 684- apoleia- ruin or loss,; from 622- apollumi- destroy fully; note: 623 Apolluon- the destroyer, Apollyon, ie Satan.
The word of God also says he is LOST, he is the only one Jesus LOST

MATTHEW 10:2-4 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Phillip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus whose surname was Thaddeus; Simon the Canaanite, and
Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.

MATTHEW 19:25,26 When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man shall sit on His glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones , judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
PSA 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.

JOHN 6:66-71 After this many of His disciples drew back and no longer went about with Him. Jesus said to the twelve, "Will you also go away?" Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know that you are the Holy One of God." Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil [Strong's Greek word 1228 - diabolos -false accuser]. He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was to betray Him.

JOHN 13:8-30 Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part in me." Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!" Jesus said to him, "He who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but he is clean all over; and you are clean, but not all of you." For He knew who was to betray Him; that was why He said, "You are not all clean."........
When Jesus had thus spoken, He was troubled in spirit, and testified, "Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me." The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom He spoke. One of His disciples, who Jesus loved, was lying close to the breast of Jesus; so Simon Peter beckoned to him and said, "Tell us who it is of whom He speaks." So lying thus, close to the breast of Jesus, he said to Him, "Lord, who is it?" Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I shall give this morsel when I have dipped it." So when He had dipped the morsel, He gave it to Judas the son of Simon Iscariot.
Then, after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly." ......

Satan entered him
LUKE 22:1-4 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew near, which is called the Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put Jesus to death; for they feared the people.
Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve; he went away and conferred with the chief priests and the captains how he might betray Him to them.

MATTHEW 26:14-16 Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What will you give me if I deliver Him to you?" and they paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment sought an opportunity to betray Him.

MATTHEW 10:2-8 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Phillip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Canaanite, and
Judas Iscariot who betrayed Him.

MATTHEW 27:1-5 When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death; and they bound Him and led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate the governor. When Judas, His betrayer, saw that He was condemned, he repented. and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, "I have sinned in betraying innocent blood." They said, "What is that to us? See to it yourself." And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed; and he went and hanged himself.

ACTS 1:16-18 "Brethren, the scriptures had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to those who arrested Jesus. For he was numbered among us, and was allotted his share in this ministry. Now this man bought a field with the rewards of his wickedness; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and his bowels gushed out.

PSA 55:23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

Hi Jerry!

I have some questions, here are the ones I can put into words now, I will think on the others.

Did Judas have a choice, or was he born without a free will?

Could he have stopped what he was doing at any point along the path?

Was he conceived only to betray Jesus?

Did you answer these in the post and I missed the answer?

See Ya tonight!

This seems a little confusing to me...but from what i have gathered, is that Judas' heart was turned the moment that Jesus dipped the bread and gave it to him, it was then that the devil entered him. It sounds like he had no choice.
Then after he had betrayed Jesus, he realised what he had done and repented. He had done his task to fulfill the Scriptures, and then whether or not satan left him i dont know, but he repented. He felt so guilty that he took his own life...hmmmmm, thats where i get confused. This was also BEFORE Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Jesus had not yet died for our sins.

I would think that Judas is in heaven, because God allowed satan to use him. He was the number one tool for God, so that the Scriptures would be fulfilled. Without Judas, there would be no crucifixion.

???????????????

I Would Like To Think Judas Is In Heaven.....of Coarse God Is The Only One That Can Judge That.....in Psa 41.9... Refered To Him As His Own Familiar Friend In Which He Trusted......he Was Jesus's Friend (as Are We) And He Trusted Him (as He Does Us)and He Ate Of His Bread (we Take The Blessings God Gives Us) And Then He Lifted Up His Heel Against Him...(most People Do Things Everyday That Is Against The Nature Of Jesus..whether It Be Small Or Large...that Satan Temps Us With And We End Up Doing It And Having To Repent.......this Is What I See In These Scriptures...because He Called Judas His Own Familiar Friend....whom He Trusted.....satan Is Not His Friend And He Certainly Doesnt Trust Him......whats Your Thoughts On This....im Certainly Not An Expert On These Things..this Is Just My Interpretation Of What Is Written?

Judas is not in heaven

The son of perdition means the son of satan.

When he killed himself he went straight to hell.

We delt with that in the do suicide victims go to heaven lesson

Judas had a choice
He had a free will
If he had chose not to betray God would have had someone else take his place.

When satan entered into him there was no turning back.

He did not repent the way you think.
He did the same thing pharaoh did.

Three times Pharaoh said I am sorry
I have sinned
Your God is God.

Three times he changed his mind.

If judas had repented he would have found peace and life not death.

When we turn to God we find life.
Judas found death instead.

As I said above Jesus said judas was the only one he lost.

Thank You Jerry!

One or two more questions.

My Pastor teaches us that during the three days Jesus was in the grave that He went down into hell and took the keys of death, hell and the grave, stomped Satan so hard he bruised his heel and then Jesus emptied hell and Abraham's bosom and made a show in the heavenlies of the spoils and tribute of Satan and his hoards.

Is this teaching correct? and if Jesus emptied hell of all the people there, would He have left Judas there? Or taken him out as well?

Maybe im a bit slow , but i still dont get it.

When Jesus told the disciples that one of them would betray Him, in John 13:22, the disciples looked at each other puzzled as to who He meant. Or does it mean everyone except Judas?
Wasn't he just as surprised as the others when Jesus gave the bread to HIM? Had he already decided to betray Jesus? Or did he know beforehand that he would be the one?

It was when Jesus gave the bread to Judas that satan entered him and took possession of him.
Jesus didn't ask him if he was going to betray Him, He already knew. Right up until that moment Judas was okay, ( i mean he was still on our side.......wasn't he?? )
i thought that the actual deed of giving that morsel to Judas was a sort of go ahead to satan that he take control of him.
There's no mention beforehand that Judas was contemplating the betrayal.

I know....im getting you all confused but i just cant seem to get it.....

Yep i have it...!!!!

In Luke. 22, verse 3, it says that satan entered Judas, and he went away and discussed with the chief priests and captains how he might betray Him and deliver Him up to them. That's when he got his blood money.
Now i really dont get it, in Luke it says that satan entered Judas BEFORE the Passover meal, in John it says DURING the meal when Jesus handed him the bread.
I'm even more confused now

Hi Carrie!

I guess in the Grand Scheme of things what happened to Judas really does not affect us in our Walks with Jesus.

This may be one of those issues that You have to put on a shelf and perhaps get a Word about what it means from God in the future, when You have learned some piece of information that makes these verses fit together, or you may have to ask that question when you get to heaven.

Either way, what happened to Judas does not affect our belief in the infallibility of God's WORD or our Salvation.

If it confuses you, put it down and ask God to unscramble the confusion for you, He will, but you have to put the puzzle down so He can show you where the pieces fit.

Ok...be Patient With Me Im Learning Here.....question...in Matthew 10 2-4...the 12 Disciples Were Named..simon(peter)..andrew...james(son Of Zebedee)...john..phillip...bartholomew...thomas... matthew...james(son Of Alpharus)...simon(the Canaanite)...and Judas Iscariot Who Betrayed Him.......then In Matthew 19:25 And 26....jesus Said Those Who Followed Him Would Set On Twelve Thrones And Judge The Twelve Tribes Of Israel....judas Was The Twelveth Disiciple....who Now Sits On The Twelve Thrown Since Judas Isnt There? I Must Study This Further..before I Can Truly Have Peace With The Idea Judas Is In Hell..so As Of Right Now My Mind Isn't Set On This Being The Case...jerry I Know That You Beleive That Judas Is In Hell.....i Need To Come To That Belief On My Own...i Need To Know That I Know What I Know....not Simply Because You Or My Pastor Or Anyone Else Says Its So...its Not That I Think You Are Wrong...its Just I Want To Know Because I Have Researched It Not Because
Anyone Tells Me It Is So....i Hope You Can Understand Why I Feel
This Way...its How I Truly Learn

Alexx you said: then In Matthew 19:25 And 26....jesus Said Those Who Followed Him Would Set On Twelve Thrones And Judge The Twelve Tribes Of Israel....judas Was The Twelveth Disiciple....

Let's see how Judas was spoken about after he died.
You for got acts
ACS 1:15 ¶ And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) 1:16 Men [and] brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. 1:17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. 1:18
Now this man purchased a field
with the reward of iniquity;
and falling headlong,
he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
1:19

And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem;
insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. 1:20

For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take . 1:21

The verses Peter is quoting by the power of the Holy Spirit is listed below.
Now let's see the whole not just the one verse because all the apostles knew what the rest were.

PSA 69:24 Pour out thine indignation upon them,
and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. 69:25
Let their habitation be desolate; [and]
let none dwell in their tents. 69:26
For they persecute [him (Jesus)]
whom thou hast smitten;
and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded. 69:27
Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and
let them not come into thy righteousness. 69:28
Let them be blotted out of the book of the living,
and not be written with the righteous.

Wow they wanted his name blotted out of the book of life and never be put back again. This is the Holy Spirit talking about Judas through the apostle Peter and King David.

Now back to acts

Acs 1:21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 1:22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. 1:22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. 1:23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 1:24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all [men], shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Matthias is sitting on the throne that was for Judas.
