You know Caleb, in the Bible? You know how he looked over and saw the promised land. How he and Joshua were ready to go with God but the rest of the people were afraid and Joshua and Caleb had to wait 40 years until the people were dead. Then their children with Caleb and Joshua were allowed to see the fruition of the vision...
That's the story, my story and I'm in year 3 of 40.
In short, there was an incredible move of the Holy Spirit on the young people of my church. They became evangelist for Jesus. (I'm tearing up just to think about it). It was one of the most beautiful things you would ever see on this earth. Youth reaching youth! 12,13,---17,18,--20,21 year olds and on and on. Inner city one time knuckle-heads now coming to Jesus Christ. Baby girls reaching baby girls and the GUYS...!
O.K. you get the picture. But my church didn't. At least not the same picture or vision I was getting. The church leaders, all but a very few, let's just say the enemy used them in ways that maybe they were unaware of, and the ministry came to a gut wrenching halt.
That's the short version and I'm a little weary even from telling that much - please pray for comfort and especially fellowship.

Jesus, please help this person and comfort them. Please help this person with their fellowship needs, and please give them Your patients, because we all need that. In Your name, Amen.

Cadbets,
Read my post entitled "Failed Church". This is what happened to my former church. We have to forgive these people. They are human, and still have sins of the flesh. I learned the hard way that Pastors are capable of sin, as well as elders of the church. We must pray for the church and the Body of Christ to pray to remove strongholds. We can't give up faith, and we have to pray that these people's hearts are receptive to what the Lord is trying to tell them to save their ministries. Don't give up brother. I read your post about your deliverance from addiction. I am struggling with the same thing. We can fight this and the attacks in the Body of Christ with super strong faith and not giving up! Hang in there Brother! You are doing what the Lords is asking you. You are a good and faithful servant. When the day comes that the Lord calls you home, he will say to you " Good and faithful servant, with you I am well pleased."
Love in Christ Brother!
