Urgent Prayer Request
April 5, 2004
Good Morning,
I am sending this prayer request to a few churches in hopes that there is someone out there can help us in with our financial situation. We are trying to get a loan in the amount of $5000.00 to cover our bills, and buy much needed groceries. I know that this seems like a tremendous amount of money. Believe me I know, but we are behind by two plus months in everything. We are running out of time. Please take a moment to read this request.
Please understand that my family and I are praying and we have faith in the Lord. Our church can’t help us, so I am praying that another church can help us.
Let me explain what has happened in our life and why this is a desperate and urgent situation.
In July of 2003, my mom passed away. She was 79 years old and had many health complications all of her life. She has always lived with me and I have always taken care of her. She passed away with many medical bills and no insurance. My husband and I have been struggling, but managed to be get by, because we were both working. Then in January of 2004, we both lost our jobs due to down sizing. We are both working now, but have fallen way behind on our bills. We don’t have a home to refinance; we live in a 1984 mobile home. Banks will not loan out against those. We just need help to get back on our feet. We are not looking for anything for free. We are willing to pay whoever can lend us the money. It will just take some time.
We have tried to get loans at conventional places along with loan companies, but they turn us down. Our credit is not good because of a bankruptcy in 1994. We were in car accident with a drunk driver and I was injured. The gentlemen that caused the accident didn’t have insurance and my car insurance was inadequate to cover the bills. The accident happened in 1992, but we struggled and paid as much as we could, before we had no choice but to file.
We are really struggling now and are about to lose what little we have. We are praying that someone out there can help us, just to get back on our feet.
Please pray for us and please if you know anyone that can help us. Please have them contact me at the below number. I will be forever grateful.
We have faith in the Lord, maybe someone will have it in his or her heart to help us.

Joyce,
What kind of bills are you behind on? The main things you need are a roof over your head, lights, water and food.
Do you have a house or land payment?
If so, you can be two months behind-just make a payment before it gets 3 months behind because I think that's when they can foreclose.
You can catch it up later but the main thing is not to get to foreclosure.
You can get help with food at churches and with the power bill at community places for that and they will also give you food. Look in the front of the phone book for listings. If you call one that doesn't help, ask them who does and keep asking places until you find one.
If you have credit cards to pay, the most they can do is harass you-they can't put you in jail or beat you for that so don't worry so much. You can always pay these bills later.
You can go to a credit counselor or repair and try to get those kind of bills reduced.
If you have car payments, you proabably can't get by with more than two months behind. If you have to give the car back, go to a used car place and get one for a little down and so much a week. The main thing is to keep above water and you can use a row boat- you don't have to have a yacht.
When you get on your feet, pray that God will give you wisdom in where to spend your money. Be sure to give tithes and offerings to Him and your money will go further than ever before!
