Yesterday, I called my mother in Georgia and she told me that her home is in foreclosure proceedings. My mother has struggled with this home for 4 years, due to having to file chapter 13 back in 2000. No, my mother was not irresponsible with credit, she actually had perfect credit until the unfortunate chain of events of helping far too many people and neglecting herself caught up with her.
My mother retired back in 1988 from Ft. Sheridan Army Base in Chicago and moved to Georgia to take over my late grandfather's property after he passed away in 1987. She was doing fine up until 1997 when during a storm, lightining struck the house and destroyed everything. She was in the house and the time and it truly was an angel of the Lord who protected her from harm.
It was just take too long to explain everything, but I'm asking for the prayer warriors out there to help my mother through prayer. She is going to be 65 years old this month and my mother deserves better than this. She is the one person in my life who has demonstrated what Jesus has taught about being a giver and to love all. My mother has helped numerous relatives over the years and the reason why she is in financial disarray today is due to a cousin who came to her right after the new home was being built after the house fire. My cousin was going to be evicted from her then trailer due to nonpayment of rent. She went to everyone to assist her but everyone told her no. Well...my mother felt for my cousin because she had four children and didn't want them out on the street. She agreed to co-sign for a new trailer for my cousin, with the stipulation that she would make the payments every month. For the first 18 months, my cousin did make the payments but then my mother started getting overdue letters in 2000. She confronted my cousin about this and my cousin had the audacity to get an attitude with my mother. Months passed and still my cousin wouldn't pay up. The situation had to be turned over to the repossesion unit of the trailer park management and my mother was being held responsible for over $20, 000 because my cousin couldn't pay for the trailer. This is the reason why she had to file Chapter 13.
It has truly been a struggle for her and I've helped her financially when I was working, but as some already know, I'm still looking for work after being laid off last March. Mama told me that she has to have over $1400.00 by Wednesday (4/15/04/) or they are going to go through with the foreclosure proceeding. She is seeing a lawyer but my mother needs help-RIGHT NOW! Your prayers would be greatly appreciated and if anyone out there could give my mother a call at *****, to let her know that there are people out there who care, it would make her so happy. Oh Lord, what has happened here? Only you know what has been going on and why. Lord I pray for your love and your comfort to surround this woman. I pray that you would provide her every need and that she would be blessed for being a giver. Lord I pray that you would convict the cousin and bring them to their names. Forgive them and save them and do a work in their life. I pray Lord that you would do an awesome work. Provide every penny needed and more. I pray that you would hear from heaven and that you would provide Lord and you would just sort out whatever is going on here. Lord please do a work Father. Come in your glory and awesome grace and take over Lord. Please reach out and touch. Pour out your richest blessings over this family. Please do an awesome work Lord. Thank-you in advance for whatyou are going to do. I praise you Lord and thank-you soooo much for how you have been working and I pray that good would come out of this event and that your glory would shine and that satan would be stamped under your foot.
Amen

Hello, I just saw this post. I am in the financial/lending industry. Many times if someone who knows a little bit about loans will get authorization to speak for an individual - they can negotiate with a lender for something called a forbearance.
A forbearance is where the lender adds the additional payments owed back into the principal, and the individual starts making normal payments.
Lenders DO NOT like having unprofitable loans on their books, and will usually negotiate. Your mon should get with someone who is will to help her out. I hope this helps, and the Lord give your mom favor with the lender!
