Baby Melody Update -- Thank you For Your Prayers!!!!

Sorry I've not been keeping up with posting these updates!
Melody (born at 23.5 weeks gestation and now about three months old -- so still a month shy of when she was due!) had a miraculous healing from kidney troubles and was transferred to a major hospital where they performed preemie dialysis on her -- she is one of the smallest preemies they've ever done this on. They found the source of the fungal infection being in one of the tubes going into her abdomen, so they were able to change that and she no longer has a problem. Hallelujah!
Mom got to hold her for the first time recently, and they dressed her up in, literally, a doll's dress, for Easter (kind of laid on top).
She continues to display the miracles of God each and every day.

MELODY'S PRAISES 4-20-04:
1. Her kidneys are doing well.
2. Her liver is slowly but steadily improving although still enlarged.
3. The pseudomous infection is much better.
4. The fungus infection has been gone for quite a few days now.
5. Because her condition is improved, they are able to give her more calories so she should start picking up some much needed weight.
BUT WITH MELODY IT IS NEVER SMOOTH SAILING FOR LONG!
Monday night we found out Melody needs surgery for her eyes as they are not developing the way they should. This is fairly common in preemies. The vessels aren't growing where they should and this could affect her central vision later. Also, by doing the surgery, there is much less possibility that her retinas will detach. (Another common preemie problem.)

Surgery postnote: as of Wednesday night 4-21-04 by Mom
The surgery today went well, but Melody's retinal problems are very severe. The doctor did a laser surgery that is supposed to repair the blood vessels that have grown into her eye tissue instead of into the retina where they are supposed to be. The laser "zaps" the blood vessels growing where they aren't supposed to. The surgeon said Melody's eyes were severe even for preemies, and she will require another surgery, possibly Saturday. The doctor has indicated this will be an ongoing battle for several months. Please pray that the retinas develop with normal circulation. God has performed so many miracles in Melody's life and we thank Him for the miracles he will continue to perform.
I will try to get photos to Carol soon so she can post them with her superior technological skills!

God we bless you for this precious life. I thank you for the honor of being able to read about her and have hope for so many others. Lord we pray now that you keep your hand on her and we praise you for her progress. AMEN AMEN. Keep the parents health so that they can be healthy and ready for her when it is time. Lord i cannot thank You enough for allowing this precious baby to live. What an extraordinary child she is...living purely through Your grace, oh thankyou that she is so very very special to You, and to us. Over the weeks we have come to love Melody so much, following her progres and praying for her, her Mummy and Daddy, and her big brother. We bow down and exalt You Father, for Your almost unbelievable work in this precious tiny little girl. So many times we were holding our breath, oh Lord, but You have brought her through, You have saved her, and You will continue working and healing, working and healing, oh how i praise You wondrous Father, almighty , holy Father, my heart is full of thanks for this precious life. I am sure, i am SURE that she will grow up to be a beautiful woman of God, she will have Your heart within her, Your song in her heart.
Oh Lord, Your hand never ceases to touch Melody, You are bringing her into total health! You are making her complete. All this litte one has been through in her short and frail life..You truly have her in Your hand.

Carrie-Ann, that song is so beautiful! I sent your prayer/post in an email to her parents tonight, along with everyone's wonderful well-wishes. I know it means a lot to them that everyone is praying. They are such amazing people. I wish you all could meet them. I am looking forward to visiting back where I'm originally from and getting to hold this precious baby when she is out of the hospital.
Let's keep those eyes covered in prayer!!!!!

THANK YOU for the wonderful ways you are manifesting your power and love as you heal this precious, wee babe, Melody! Thank you Lord! You are so amazing!!!!! Thank you!!!!! Lord, we continue to bring her before you. We especially pray for her eyes and liver Lord God. Oh Lord, you made those eyes, and we know it is not too hard for you to heal them now. Oh thank you Lord, for each and every way you are healing her. Please bring all the circulation she needs to heal those eyes and have healthily developed retinas. Lord, the doctors say she has a very serious version of this, and I say this means a great time of seeing your healing power manifest in this little one! Thank you Lord! And Lord, please help her liver to function normally, and to not be enlarged any longer. You have been so faithful and loving, caring for her each and every step of the way. Thank you Lord!
Oh Lord, please keep her parents and big brother in your care. Protect them on the road as they travel to care for her. Make their jobs streamlined and easy during these days. Help them to sleep well. Encourage and build them up, bringing them continued support from family and friends. Oh Lord, fill them with your peace, love, and energy.
Comfort and encourage all of her family and their friends, Lord God.

Father, we just praise you for the miracles you have worked in baby Melody's life!!! Thank you Father for seeing her through these times, and we claim that you will continue to heal her, heal her eyes, Father. Make her a whole, healthy, perfect baby. We continue to lift Melody and her family up before you today.
Lord Jesus, work a miracle in her eyes and liver this day. Oh Lord, may all the circulation be perfect when the surgeons next look at them! May your name be glorified! What man has determined to be a long struggle, let them see the hand of the Lord at work! How you can make a way even through the most difficult of circumstances!
Please keep your angels about Melody, comforting her and protecting her. May your presence be felt all about her isolette, Lord God!
Thank you Lord! Thank you and praise your Holy, Holy name for your goodness and kindness, for your gentleness and faithfulness! Thank you for how you've continually been healing precious baby Melody!
