Who Is Up For Another Vigil ????

I feel a strong urge to start another vigil for marriages, but this time to proclaim the word of God over our marriages, and to worship the Lord for Who He is.... .

It would start on Friday 30 April through to Sunday 2 May. Can always be extended. Short notice i know, but where the Lord is concerned, we can always MAKE time right??? Same as last time...slots of one hour, fasting, prayer and WORSHIPPING !!!

Anyway if youd like to join in, be a part of the Vigil, or be put on the list...(shall i make a new one ? ) .... then please let me know asap, and we can get this show on the road. I know there are several who are looking this way already !!! AMEN !

There is AWESOME POWER in the proclamation of Gods Word !!!!

So here i go again with the time differences !!!

Ive asked Shawn if we can use his brilliant 'sign up for prayer' idea on the Home Page . I'll wait for his reply before starting to make a time slot schedule....cos maybe i won't have to. I will let you know.

And what about the Prayer List, do you want me to start a new one, or use the one we already have , as a new one would mean everyone has a new number.

I would like to join but have never participated in a vigil before. What does it entail exactly so I don't mess up. My daughters are going to be in Virginia with school that weekend and my son is staying with his father at his place on Saturday the 1st of May. Count me in and let me know what I do.

Anything to help save any and all marriages, not just my own.

Count me in too! Very good timing as our trial date is the 10th of May! Great focus!

I cannot fast though. I've been fasting too much and the last one really messed me up physically. I could fast sweets or something like that, but I feel led that I have to stop fasting for awhile.

Tucker, how the other vigils have gone is that we fast for three days, people are signed up for an hour slot around the clock, we have a list of all the marriages being prayed for, and we pray for them during our time slot. We also pray for the prayer warriors in support whenever we can remember throughout the day. We just did one over Easter Weekend and have seen some awesome blessings of the Lord.

Thank you for the information, Erika. I probably shouldn't do a complete fast either. I did for the weekend that my husband was deciding if he wanted to leave or not, and it was not a good thing, I had problems for about a week after that. Also, I have lost 30 pounds in two months and the doctor is concerned about my weight because I am under what I should be for my height. If I asked him about the fasting, he would probably advise against it. : (

Also, do we pick our time slot or is it picked for us? Just curious. I will pray about your trail date too and hope that God intervenes.

Thank you, Tucker. You can also fast "any good thing", and many do modified fasts where they still eat dinner, or give up all media, or something like that.

Carrie-Ann, I forgot time sign up -- the 10 - 11 pm, Pacific Standard Time worked great for me.

I would like to sign up for the 9-10 a.m., Eastern Standard Time. That would work great for me. Also if you could add my husband, Edward Tucker Sr. to the list of needing prayed for. I assume that is how it works. And for our marriage.

hey everybody!
am so excited about this, really became close to the Lord last time.
don't remember if anyone mentioned it, but you can fast from things you like, like tv, bubble baths, anything that is a luxury to you.
anyway, i will do the whole fast and consider throwing in a luxury, want God to know that we all truly mean to put him first.

anyway, can i have the 7-8 or 8-9 pm slot for all three days? that is eastern time for me, in the B E A Utiful blue ridge mountains of NC!
anyway, it is gorgeous here, and i look forward to meeting you all in prayer for our marriages!

oh, ps. i think we should use the same list, just add to it, i for one have annointed all our names with Holy Oil, and consider my paper Holy now, lol. truly, though, I think it is good for us to keep the same order,

For me the Easter vigil was a wonderful event, solidarity and all that, so I am really looking forward to this one.

I spoke to Carrie-Anne today about the vigil and I'm going to work as fast as possible to get the new vigil module ready this weekend.
Instead of having to use the forums and constantly update the names in the lists, I have built a new system that is much easier to use.

Without getting to detailed here is a quick synopsis:
1. you login to the mainpage (you should always do that anyhow)
2. you click a button that says signup to pray
3. you choose the hour you wish to pray
4. when it's your time to pray, on the homepage will be a new block to click on.
5. You will be presented with a page with a name of a person to pray for and what their need is.
6. you pray for them and click the next arrow to get the next name to pray for untill they are all done, or untill you are done.
7. at the end it will tell you how many people you prayed for, and also let them know how many people prayed for them.

---the names are all put into a list and randomised so that the first person who signed up doesn't necessarilly get more prayers than the last person to signup. I went to this system in anticipation of someday having thousands, or even tens of thousands of names to be prayed for.

--there is also another button to click on where you can input your name to be prayed for and also to input your request.

--on the main page where you signup to pray, you will be able to see all the timeslots, and how many people have allready signed up for the timeslot. That way, if you choose to, you can pick an hour with few people in it praying in order to cover the entire 24 hour period.

--all of this coding was done with individual vigils in mind. That way we can have a number of different vigils going at all times. As some people may wish to pray for finances, or health, instead of marriage, we can easilly add new vigils. The slots where you signup are for a specific vigil, completelly separated from the others.

--if the vigil is set to go for 3 days, then there would actually be 3 separate vigils. One for each day.

--This is a VERY powerfull system that has taken literally weeks of solid coding to build, and I'm sure that everyone is going to love it. I have not seen a similar or more user friendly system anywhere on the internet, and I hope it becomes as big a success as the prayerboard itself. The coding is about 95% done, and I expect to release it probably either Saturday night or Sunday. This should give plenty of time for people to signup by the time this next one starts a week from now.

--There are a few things for me to still overcome in this system. Mainly how to show an individual user that it's their time to pray on the forums itself, and not only on the homepage of the site. (This is going to take a considerable amount of extra coding, and won't be finished for approx another month or so). I am also building a system to notify each person at the end of the vigil via email, how many people prayed for them, if they choose to be notified. I'm sure it would bring a moment of encouragement to get an email letting them know that such a huge amount of people were actually praying for them.

well enough for now..... back to coding. I'll post more on this as I get time.

Feel free to do whatever fast is best for you....as PFR says, you can also fast anything that you would normally do , but would MISS.....!!! Be creative !

There is only a weeks time to sign up for a slot.....so dont wait too long .

I have been printing out the names, but am only up to #109. Where is that list? In the Easter Vigil thread? I would like to join, but not sure about the time yet, as God has been dealing with me to get more sleep, and I usually pray around midnight. I will let you know. If Shawn's system is up when I get off work at 9:00 tonight, I will sign up there. How cool.

I don't mind praying over a list of names at the computer during my slot, but do I have to post a paryer to each one? Or do I just see their name and pray for them, then go to the next one and so on? Guess we'll know more later. Posting prayers takes so long and I couldn't pray for very many is all I'm thinking. I want to hit EVERY name. That's why I use the printed list.

Anway, see you guys.
