Jodi, welcome. I look forward to praying with and for you.
In regards of learning how to pray. Praying is simply talking to God....that's all. One of the books that I have read on the subject of prayer (which is one of my personal favorites) is the Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie Ormatian( I think that is how you spell her last name). Anyway, the book takes your prayer life to a whole other level.
If you need anything, don't hestiate to ask. We do our best to help here. God Bless your walk.

My sister above said it right.... just talk with Him....Prayers are our line of communication with God. Prayers can be private or public. There are prayers of confession(is for our sake acceptance of responsibility for what we have done and ask for God's forgiveness), for God knows what we have already done, suppimentation(asking for things in a humble and earnst manner), worship and thanksgiving( this to offer our thanks for what God has done in our lives and help in our relationship with Him) and also prayers for God intercession or help.
Most importantantly prayer helps you develop your relationship with God it brings you closer to him. This how we talk to God and tell him how we feel, what we need, and tell Him that we love Him. Worship is a large part of prayer. When we worship God in our prayers we acknowledge His sovereignity and His greatness. Worship express our desire to have God rule in our lives.
Also, when we pray we must believe that God will help us.(Matthew 21:22)
