Conditions to Answered Prayer

1. Right relationship with God. Clean heart
Psalm 24:4-5 "Who may ascend into the hills of the LORD? And who may stand in His Holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, And has not sworn deceitfully." Ps66:18 "If I regard wickedness in my heart. The Lord will not hear."

2.Right relationship with others. Forgiveness and humility.
Matt 5:23-24 - "If therefore you are presenting your offering at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering".

3. Childlike faith. Simple and from your heart.
Heb 11:6 "And without faith iit is impossible to please (Him), for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and (that) He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."
1Jhn 5:15- "And if we know that He hears us (in) whatever we ask, we know that we have the rquests which we have asked from Him".

4. Gratitude. Always giving thanks.
Ps 100:4 "Enter His gates with thanksgiving, (And) His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name."

5. Obedience. Willingness to do whatever the Lord shows you.
De 28:2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you will obey the LORD your God."
1Pet 3:12 - "For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears attend to their prayer..."

This is real good.

Can anyone think of any more?

I'm curious... why do you apply these specific scriptures to prayer, and specifically as conditions required for God to answer pray (as a sidenote, do you mean answered as in "yes" or answered in any form).

Just curious...

Good questions...
Well, if you are a Christian, which means "follower of Christ" you want to BE like Him. And in order to BE like Him you must have faith."Now that we have been put right with God through faith, we have peace with God through Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1"But God has shown us how much he loves us - it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us". Rom 5:8 We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Romans 5:10

Think about an earthly father, how much they love their children, the children want to please their dad because he holds the key to their heart. When we become Christians, by asking Jesus to take up residence in our hearts, we become one with God. (And He's the one who made the heart!)

Whoever sins is guilty of breaking God's law because sin is a breaking of the law, 1John 3:4

Those who are children of God do not continue to sin, for God's very nature is in them; they cannot continue to sin. 1John39

Jesus answered him, "Those who love me will obey my teaching. My Father and I will love them and my Father and I will come to them and live with them. John 14:23

Well, I'm not a preacher, but I hope I helped some.

Just re-read the scriptures from my first post and ask God to help you understand them from your heart.

Psalms 66:18 says "If I ignored my sins, the Lord would not have listened to me.." ( I believe this is King David speaking)

in your posts, and I understand what you're saying with those scriptures. I think your headings are right on for each of the five, I guess I'm just missing how those particular versus are tied specifically into prayer, as requirements for one's prayers being answered.

I'm not sure there really are set "conditions" that one has to meet in order to have his prayers answered. I've often wondered if God answers the prayer's of non-christians, but I haven't studied the subject to come to a conclusion.

When asking for wisdom were told to believe and not doubt that we will receive, and that God gives generously to all without finding fault.

Matthew 7 doesn't seem to apply much condition to prayer at all, when it says ask and you'll receive, seek and you'll find, knock and the door will be open. All it seems to say to me is that you just have to approach God... specifically like it says in Hebrews 4:16 "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

Please hear me when I say that I don't disagree with anything you're saying, especially your second post... I follow what you say there totally, I'm just having trouble finding a connection between the versus and prayer. If you can elaborate for me, please do :-)
