Someone emailed this to me. I've only read part of it, but it looks very interesting. Thought I'd pass it along:
Deleted by Jerry the Terms of service TOS say you must get permission to put up a link
The author is a Canadian man, Stephen Wilcox

Curious to know what others think.

Blessings,

Be careful the first few paragraphs looked ok but then as I started skimming through there were some references I never heard of I will check them out see what references are to not Bible that I know of unless Jewish Books we don't have so let me check with Jerry and some others. Always be careful what you read cause it does effect you spiritually. In Christ, Peaches

I skimmed through that part too (I think the same part you are talking about). Those are early Christian scholars he is quoting, and he is using their writings to determine what the correct context is of the Biblical verses on marriage, divorce, etc. Looking at what the understanding was at that time of the teachings laid out by Jesus, Paul, Peter, etc. Most students of seminary read those same writers, and I know I read some of them in a course contrasting early Christianity with Greco-Roman Paganism during the early centuries of the church, when I was in college.

Re-reading that . . . *I* wasn't in college during the early centuries of the church . . . heehee.

Initially, I read a little, then closed it because I didn't know who those references were. Then something told me to read on and I am so glad I did. Wow! Lot's of confirming scripture in there for me. Most of them I've read before but got a fresh wave of "rhema" there. Praise God! I asked Him to talk to me today and He did deliver as usual. I found all kinds of reasons why I will not give up my stand. He also explained why He told me to do something early on in my separation. Also, and this really saddens me, I really understand why my husband is having it so hard in almost everything he does since he made the decision to not reconcile this family. I also understand why, although the kids and I miss him madly, we continue to prosper in almost everything we do. That hurts me. I don't like it that he is so out of God's grace. I have a new direction in my prayers for my marriage now. Thanks, Ericka...

That's awesome, WeRFamily . . . I'm glad God touched you with this.

I've read some more of the article now, and I really like everything I've read so far. I don't know why so much of the church has gone so "soft" on divorce and remarriage.

Hi all, I noticed after posting my last message on here that the link had been removed. I was not aware that the user agreement said we cannot post links without them first being approved, so I apologize for doing that. I hope it is not wrong to post email addresses.
