The New Prayerboard is finally here!

Well it has been a very long time coming, but welcome to the new prayerboard.
There are many new enhancements in this system, and I hope everyone enjoys this new setup.

One of the major changes, is the ability to attach pictures to your threads now. When you are posting a new thread, or a reply, there is now a box at the bottom for attaching an image. Click the "Manage Attachment" button, and that will bring you a new popup. Simply click the browse button, to search your computer for pictures. Then after you have found your picture, click the upload button, and close the window.
The picture, or pictures, will be automatically added to your thread.

There is also a new login feature. Simply login on the top of any page, and you will now be logged into the system.

There is still one thing to fix and that is the last prayers on the homepage. It does not yet take you to the right place, so I will take it off the homepage untill I am able to rewrite it.

Please, if you find anything wrong, or any annoying bugs, let me know by replying to this post.

give me a bit of time, and I will bring back the link for today's prayers, I know that is a very popular button.

Hi Shawn!

The quick reply isn't working.

The biggest problem I can see besides the lack of a certain forum... ... is that there is no link back to the HOME page once you come into the FORUMS.

I am hoping that the 'NEW POSTS' link is there to replace the one I have been nagging you about... ...

What happened to the nice 'Smilies' that were on the Beta Version?

It is faster here than it was in the Beta. I really need to get more space!

ok to answer the questions...
the link www.annointed.net/Community is no good anymore, that is why you see no header information. If you goto the homepage, and then click on the prayer board buttons, it will take you to the forums properly with all the headers.

I'm sure that a few people will run into the same issue you are having, untill they get used to the new system. I have removed virtually every link on the site to the old community. Please, if you find any other ones that goto the wrong place let me know.

I will import the new smilies from the new system.

new posts link:
I will be adding that link to the top "quick links" dropdown menu, along with a few others to make getting around easier.

quick reply:
In order to use it, you have to click on the thread itself, bottom part, there is a pic of an envelope, that turns on the quick reply feature.
I will do some research and see if there is any way to turn it on by default.

I figured out the 'Quick Reply' I didn't read the instructions in the box before I posted! DUH!

The HOME page I mean is the home page for the whole site. You know, where Jerry posts the news and articles. Also the Western Wall link and all the neat things like the Sermon Notes link and site stats... etc. The Front Page. The place where you find everything you need to know.

By the way, did the Flash Games page get the boot with the upgrade? I played them sometimes while waiting for new posts in the middle of the night.

they are still on the homepage main menu, and seem to work ok for me, though I only tried 2 of them.

Home Page Main Menu! That is the page I have been asking for! There is no link back to it! At least not that I have found! Sorry I wasn't clear on which Home Page I wanted!

Down at the very bottom of this page on the right, it says "anointed.net" in a dark blue bar (with some other links). This gets you back to the home page from the forums (or at least from each thread within a forum).


What's the difference between "Quick Reply" and "Post Reply"? Length in words I can use? I never tried "Quick Reply," because I tend to get wordy!

The borad looks good. I like the new colors, really refreshing. I like the clean, crisp apperance of things.

quick reply does not give you all the tools you would normally have doing a full reply. It is for quick text responses only.

no that is not all of them. I need to fix the code for the "more" link that pops up. I hope to get to that tomorrow. Really need a nap before church tonight.

In order to get a picture to show up, type in what you want, and scroll down the page a bit to the "additional options" box
In there is a button that says "Manage Attachments"
Click that button, and a new popup box comes up.
In there you can click the browse button to search your computer for a picture. Find your picture, double click it, and then click the upload button.
Your picture will be automatically added to your post. You can do that a number of times if you like.

I will add a picture to this thread, so you can see what it looks like when it's done.

why is the board so small? My computer shows only about half of what is was before? Is this normal?

Excuse me. It does not say "anointed.net" but "Anointed" in the dark blue bar. That brings you back to home page when you click on it.

And this brings up another question. Can't I edit my posts anymore? I came down here, rather than open that post and fix it up there. I saw only the "Quote" button. HELP!!! I am a major editor of my posts!

Say, the smilies box does not show them all this time, and to get the little worship guy, I clicked on [More]. Only it's telling me this page can not be found. It looked like they were all showing to my right when I typed that last post.

The entire website was built for 800x600 as we have so many members from other countries with really old monitors.
We lost approx 150 pixels by adding in the left main menu from the main website.
As I get time, I am going to rewrite the entire theme engine to use % instead of fixed widths. That will make it fill up your screen properly.

There is no "Manage attatchments" button in my list of "Addtional options." Only "Show your signature," "Automatically parse links in text" and "Disable smilies list." Does the link up above with the mountain still work the old way? If someone could explain that to me....

Do we have to re-register? When I beta tested the other night, I thought it said we have to. Wanted to take the "12" off my name, as it was a mistake.

Sorry to pelt you with questions!

I will save my other question, 'cause I can go check and see what happens first.

I changed the permissions so the manage attachments now shows up for everyone.

the beta test site has nothing to do with this site. This site uses the same account you signed up with when you registered way back when.

Yes the mountain pic should allow you to insert an image, though it works differently. You would allready have to have the picture online somewhere, and it just links to that.
The manage attachments is much easier.

Shawn a question where is the last 100 prayers link? That was my home page for my log on. I can use it better than the home page. I minipulate the whole thing better and see who has had a prayer posted and when the replies are 0 I go there first to try to make sure that person get prayed for.
I really like the new site so far a lot cleaner and neater looking. Thanks for all the hard work you have done. I am addicted to this site. Love praying for others and talking about God and his word. Thanks

For the moment the recent prayers and last 100 have been removed.
They pointed to the old prayerboard without the new theme, and it has to be totally re-written.
I will try to get on that this weekend, as it's a huge feature that people use a lot. I am just running on empty today, and only have a few minutes to get ready for church tonight.
I will be adding in extra menu choices in the "quick links" area for the prayer board top menu this weekend. I will also put a link to today's posts, and the last100 in there when I get the time.

I figured out that I can edit my posts in the other forums (besides "announcements"). That's always been the case. Whew!

I will check out the "Attatchements" button now.

Also, where is that thread about changing signature addresses? I did not see it when I just came into the "announcments" forum. I changed my link, so it now links to the thread on the new board. But can we size the signature bigger? Or does size not work yet? I tried to resize it on the new board, and it is still small in the post. Will they always be small?

Never mind. I found the thread about changing addresses in the signature. I'm much slower than others around here! But I just reopened "announcements" and there it was. I asked the same question about size of signature over there. Don't want to be a pest!!!

I clicked on the image twice, as you instructed. It tells me to wait while it's upoloading the file. But it also says "Done" or "Done with erros on page" at the bottom of my screen in the gray bar next to the "e." The hour glass was not by the arrow, so I assumed it was done. No picture/image was uploaded into my post, though. If it still "Please wait," should I keep waiting?

Also, why does the size function not work? Color and bold and font all work fine, but it didn't size my typing any bigger when I tried.

Will the words always be that small in the actual post? It's hard to read the tiny print. It used to be the same size as in my typing box. Is there a way I can set my computer for bigger print?

Like you Jeri-Rose, i'm having trouble reading the tiny print in the posts!! But Shawn said he'd try to fix it. ( PHEW !!!! can put my magnifying glass away... )

Also when i tried to type a word in colour in my reply, the print is smaller than the rest of the words.....

you can only upload .jpg, or .gif pictures, and if the picture on your hard drive is really big, then it will never upload, especially on modem, since your browser would timeout first.
If you are trying to upload a fairly small picture that is the right type, you must wait till it finishes uploading before closing the box.

text size:
Yes I did turn off the large text size. It was annoying me to no end that so many people were typing in such overly large fonts, which made reading through the posts very cumbersom.
Once I get a chance to finish all of my projects I will look into increasing the normal font size slightly.
I know I'm young, but even from 20 feet I can read the text clearly. A lot of it can have something to do with your monitor, and how clearly it is able to display the text. The difference between the pixel size of this board and the last one is only 2pixels (very small). I would suggest checking the output resolution of your monitor. I personally keep mine to 1024x768 in order to see what the majority of net users are seeing. Many new monitors, and graphic cards output to a much higher resolution, which would make the text very very small. Just an idea.....

It probably doesn't help that there's anointing oil smeared on my screen from when I anointed a thread a while back. I'm on bifocals now, and I asked my sister why my eyes seem so much worse already (should not need new glasses for a couple years). She said it's sitting at the computer so much! I said "Then, what can we do?" She said, "Just sit at our computers and get new glasses." The print in the box I'm typing in is like large print, I guess. I love large print Bibles, by the way!

.jpg or .gif? Ok, will check it out. I think it's a bit map, though I can make it into a jpg image. I just don't know how to upload it once it's a .jpg image. Will keep trying. It uploaded into the phto gallery on the old site, so figured it would image into a post.

I have temporarilly removed the link to the last 100 prayers.

But, I have come up with something just as good to replace it now.
ON the top of the prayer board navigation is a button called "Today's Posts" if you click that you will see all the new threads in the last 24 hours, which is usually more than the last 100 we used to use.

Also in the "Quick Links" dropdown tab on the top, is a button for "New Posts". That will give you all the new posts since you last logged in.

We now have 2 separate, but equally powerfull search features, and I believe they will do a great job untill I bring back the last100 button.
