hello! i just lost my 16 year companion on Tuesday. i miss him terrible and feel devastated!!!!!!! will i see him again? what does the Bible say about pets going to heaven? thank you for the response! God bless you!

I certainly hope so. God who loves me would have my dear ones all of them waiting for me. I always thought that when Jesus came it said every tongue shall praise the Lord meant every tongue!!! including my cat bird and dog!

Animals don't have a spirit, I don't think they go to heaven.

R. C. Sproul, of Ligonier Ministries is a great Biblical scholar if you have not heard of him before. He said that the question of whether or not animals go to Heaven is not a frivilous one. I don't remember all that he said, but he mentioned that through the Blood of Yahshua all creation will be redeemed. He seemed to feel this could include animals. We know there are animals in Heaven. When the saints return with the Lord on the day of His wrath, we will be riding white horses!

I personally suspect good little doggies go to Heaven.

I know how you feel about losing a beloved pet. They become like member of the family.

Hope you get another dog real soon. Not that one animal can replace another. But puppies can sure steal the heart and be so comforting and even distracting from the pain of loosing a furry friend. Besides, sounds like you would give a good home to so often vulnerable pets.

thank you all for your responses. i guess this is really one of those times i really, really wanted to hear what i wanted to hear. i miss my dog so much. he was a stray that invited himself into the passenger seat of my car 16 years ago (he was estimated to be 17 or 17 1/2 years old when he passed away). i do have another dog. but, nothing can replace that gentle, kind, loyal soul that shared my secrets, my laughter and my tears for so many years. i sure hope to see him as soon as i step into heaven! :-) again, thank you for your replies!

I always thought that because animals didn't have a soul that they would not go to heaven but now I am doubting what I have been led to believe...God created them ... why wouldn't they go to heaven?....interesting

ROMANS 8:19-21
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

PLEASE READ: The Bible teaches that "all flesh shall see the salvation of God" (Lk.3:6) and that "all the living things in creation - everything that lives in the air, and on the ground, and under the ground, and in the sea" will praise Yahweh and the Lamb" (Rev.5:13). God's care and love extends to even the humble sparrow (Lk.12:6) and He has promised that He will restore all living things (Ac.3:21; Eph.1:10). Death as a whole will be annulled or abolished (1 Cor.15:25-26; 2 Tim.1:10) and the whole creation will be renewed (Rev.21:4-5). The resurrection will affect all celestial (heavenly) creatures and all terrestrial (earthly) ones (1 Cor.15:35-42). There will be a world-wide restoration of all life in its perfect frame - the curse pronounced by God after the Fall will be reversed - parasites will no longer live a parasitical lifestyle, carnivorous animals will become vegetarians, and all will be at peace. I suppose the renewed animal life will be very different from what we see today.

flowerchild, I'm so sorry to hear that your dog passed away. I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you. My cat adopted us, just as your dog adopted you. It's always so hard when our beloved companions leave us. I am one who certainly believes animals go to Heaven! I don't believe the loving Father who made these creatures would deny them that. I hope that when your heart and home are ready for another animal, that God will guide you to one who needs what you have to offer. Please consider a rescue animal, unless another one adopts you first. Many wonderful pets end up in rescues through no fault of their own.

Luke 12:6 "Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God."

Ecclesiastes 3:19 "For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. "

Flowerchild, I am so saddened by your lost. I will be praying for you. Yes, I believe that pets get to go to Heaven. They have souls, too.

Again, thank you all!!!! I am going to e-mail some of your responses to my parents (they were also very close to my dog). Thank you for giving me hope and something wonderful to look forward to. God bless you for your prayers and taking the time to look up scripture for me. :-)

Just another animal lover that hopes to see my pets in Heaven also. My heart goes out to you. I have lost four dogs to old age. I loved them all. But one in particular, Teddy, a cream pom. was particularly close to my heart. He was abused as a puppy and was very defensive toward every one. I got him when he was 6 mos. old and he came to trust me. Even my husband couldn't get him from me unless I handed him to him. He died a few years ago, but I still miss him dearly. Another dog I had was just a mutt I found along a road, dirty and hungry. I took her home and cleaned her up and she and I became good friends. She was very gentile and loving with everyone. She got a big lump on her chest one day and we had it removed. We did everything we could for her. But she was at least 17. We took her home from the vet and she was sitting on the floor near my chair one night. She used to sit on my lap all the time but she could no longer get up. But this night she wanted on my lap. So I helped her up and cuddled with her, she kissed me on the face and got down. She went to her place she liked to lay behind a chair. I called her to go to bed and she didn't answer, so I had my husband look and see what she was doing. He said that she was dead. It blew me away and still does. She kissed me goodbye, like she was saying thanks for taking care of me and giving me a home. But I have to go now. It still makes me cry every time I think of her. Ye I think that our pets go to Heaven. After all they are better to us than most people are. And god loves them too.

We were always told that they wouldn't go to Heaven, but that was just Satan's effort to make Heaven seem less appealing. There is NOTHING negative about Heaven.

Do all are pets go to heaven? I would say yes for all God's creatures are part of the kingdom. In Genesis it says the garden was filled with every animal, bird and creature was there. So I firmly say, that God Loves these creatures also and they will be there with us...

Even 3 months later i continue to receive encouraging replies to my question: "do dogs go to heaven?". I still miss him soooo much! Just the other day I called my other dog by his name and broke down in tears. But, i have been greatly encouraged that I will see my little "angel" again! He WAS the best little dog in the world, he gave me so much more than I could ever imagine. Again, thank you all for the encouragement. May God bless you! :-)

My dog will be 10yrs old tomorrow. Every year on his birthday I buy him a large can of dog food and stick a cookie on top and sing happy birthday to him. This will be the first year that I can't do that. He didn't die... but I lost him just the same. I feel for you.

Animals are part of God's works. My pets seem to have a long lasting spirit even after they are passed on. Noah brought them here for a reason.I would have to say that all good dogs go to heaven, let us hope so anyway.Sorry for your loss. God bless you and yours...GM
