We had a awesome Bible study yesterday -
Be doers of the Word. Example: We know the speed limit but do we go the speed limit? The same can be applied to the Word. We know the Word but are we doers of His Word?
Mark 11:22-25
22"Have[1] faith in God," Jesus answered. 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."[2]
Have faith in God constantly and consistently. Be confident in whatever it states – our job is to do the speaking and believing and let it take dominion over our lives.
The instructor told about a vision she had had. There was a boat that had lots of holes in it and it’s filled with water. The person inside the boat is totally exhausted from bailing out the water and for years they have been praying that God will help them. Other people have tried to help them. The Lord says they are working with the water instead of the holes and only Faith will fill the holes. The Lord says this situation is going to stay the same. This person’s praying just like you have been. But their boat is ready to sink. The Lord says I’m not fixing the holes because I’ve equipped my children to fix their own holes. For years, we’ve had problems and they’re taking all our energies. We have bucket brigades going dealing with the water. But we have to fix the holes in our own boats because God has already given us the authority.
What we say, it will be done. (For many people it works in the negative). Satan is afraid of people who walk in faith and those who do God’s Word. We’re anointed and this enables people to fix our own holes. Satan wants us to think of ourselves as victims. Think about what we calling ourselves. What do you call yourself? If you control your mouth, you control your life! We prosphecy about ourselves. Chose to say, “I’m smart, prosperous, have favor with God and man, and I’m anointed.” The number one way is to be a doer of His Word is to speak His Word. Genesis 1:1 God hovered over the earth and spoke creation. V. 6 He spoke v. 9 He spoke, etc.
Ephesians Chapter 5:1
1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
Be imitators of God as children imitate their parents. Example: He spoke to the fig tree. Act on the Word – speak the Word. What do you call yourself? Example: I’m diabetic. NO! Say, “I’m a walking, talking miracle.” I AM is in you. You are what you call yourself. God released his faith spoke through His Words.
Romans 10
1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."[1] 6But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'[2] " (that is, to bring Christ down) 7"or 'Who will descend into the deep?'[3] " (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,"[4] that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."[5] 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."[6] 14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"[7] 16But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"[8] 17Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
God’s message is on your lips and in your heart. When you acknowledge God’s words and it’s in your heart, you will be saved. It’s the same formula to create our world.
II Cor. 4:13 13It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."[2] With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, 14because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 15All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
The same spirit of faith as he who said I believe and therefore I have spoken. So your words determine your life and your household’s lives - whether you speak negative or positive.
Psalms 1
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
You have the same faith as Daniel, Elijah, and Jesus. But we haven’t esteemed our words previously – these are the holes in our boats. But we are the imitators of God. However, we’ve been like babies and bought into the world system. But we have relearn how to talk/speak. I prophecy myself.
James 1
18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
It was his own free will that he created men and women. We ‘re to be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. Ask yourself: Do I want what I am fixing to say? Don’t be self destructive – those are the holes in your boat.
James 1:21
21Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does. 26If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. 27Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Get rid of uncleanliness, have a modest spirit, be a doer, and speak His Word. If anyone thinks he or she is religious and doesn’t bridle his tongue, their religious actions are barren. Get uncontaminated! Wise men and women look to forward to see the effects of their words before they say them.
James 3
17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. 19You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder. 20You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[4] ? 21Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,"[5] and he was called God's friend. 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. 25In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
If anyone doesn’t offend in his/her speech, he/she can control his/her whole body. We can curve our situation by our words. Ex. The horse bits allow you to control the horse. By controlling our mouths, we determine our lives. Ex. Our tongues are like the rudders on boats, the steering wheels of our vehicles. With discipline and God’s spirit, we have supernatural ability. God’s Word has to be priority. God’s Word existed first. Jesus is the living Word. We’re created in God’s image. Number 1 problem is our mouth. Faith-filled words determine a promising future.
If you want to stop smoking (addiction) while smoking, buying cigarettes, etc. say: “I don’t like cigarettes. Thank God for delivering me from cigarettes. Thank God I don’t have a desire to smoke. Thank God I don’t like to smoke.” Say it over and over for weeks – months if necessary. You will be delivered through the word of God.
