I think there is something like a spirit of blindness.
Something which keeps us from realizing the truth with our mind.
At least I have this problem. It's like my brain doesn't understand it or get it. It's as if the cross is too abstract too grasp.
I listened to a sermon and the speaker said that when you get the confidence in your heart that Jesus lives your mind will no longer be able to play tricks on you.But how do you realize it in your heart? How does this happen? This is one of Satan's tactics to blind the christians and to keep them from realizing what Jesus did for us and this is a real problem.
I think that no arguments in the whole world can make a person believe. I think that even if the people got proof for Jesus being resurrected that it would not make them become believers. They would maybe think about it but they wouldn't be able to grasp it with their minds. This is really a huge problem.

There is a blindness, but ask God to remove it, so that You might see, if you believe this is the problem for you.
Humans are 3 parts actually: spirit, soul and body.
The spirit is that which is attentive to the things that are above, that of God, and if one is not saved, then to the other spiritual things of above.
The soul is that which is attentive to the things going on all around a human.
Then there is the flesh, that which is attentive to what is going on INSIDE a person. Then also there is the flesh nature, which are the things which are against that of God, being hedonistic and that sort of thing. The body itself is not wrong, but rather the flesh nature which brings up things contrary to God.
To believe in God, one just believe that He is..no arguments..just believe..for that is faith..believing in something you cannot see, hoping for it to happen, even though you cannot see it with your eyes. We must have FAITH that He exists.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
it is said that every man has a measure of faith.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
and from where do we get faith?
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Meaning by LISTENING to the word of God, our faith will be increased.
Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
God can also blind people as seen in this verse:
Joh 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
meaning that sometimes God blinds those, and hardens hearts, so that those people so afflicted will turn to God, and be healed.
So, there are some verses that I have came up with. An excellent source to help one study is e-sword. This is downloadable, and comes with several commentaries, and study tools, to help one to study the Bible more effectively. I use it alot when studying, although the best way is just to seek God, both in prayers and in reading His word. Ask God to give you wisdom:
Jam 1:5 If any of you lackwisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

I have asked God to make me see this more clearly but I have the impression that nothing changes. It's simply so hard to grab this in your mind. It's like the brain doesn't really want to get it.Sometimes I have short moments of "enlightement" where it makes click and I think "that's really real" but these moments don't last long.
The problem is that basically the brain will always fight your beliefs, it'll alway be the enemy who doesn't want to accept what you believes.
