John 6

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

This sounds like it's all predestined and it sounds like some people cannot be saved at all.

I have been listening to a whole series of sermons on this very subject by Oliver B. Green. In them he explains the predestination verses. He says that noone is predestined to be saved or lost but all who do accept Christ are predestined to become like Christ. If some were predestined to be saved and others to be lost then what was the use of Jesus dying, they would have either gone to Heaven or Hell simply by being predestined to do so weither Jesus died for us or not.

It simply means that no one can come to him except by the Holy Spirit of God, who calls us all to repentance.

It's God's Spirit who calls out to us, otherwise, we would never repent on our own because we would not be convicted of our sin.

It's up to us whether we listen or not, and that's what determines our destiny-our own decision.

Yes but nobody can believe in Jesus without the Holy Spirit.
Think about Paul for example, he was converted even though he did not ask for it.
This is what I mean.God simply did it. Why doesn't he simply do it with other people?
There are many people which don't believe in God but which would believe if they only got a little sign. Does God choose who gets a sign and who not?
