How to worship God?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I wanna worship God but don't know how.
I cannot sing and I also couldn't sing at home.
So how else can I worship God? I don't know what to say. I mean shall I say I love you hundred times? This also wouldn't be the right thing. So what shall I do?

Worship is not exclusive to just singing and music. Worship is a lifestyle. It is a daily living sacrifice.

Christ is calling us to a lifestyle of worship. A life of repentence, of obedience, and of forgiveness.

Mhm. Worship doesn't have to be that whole, routine performance with raising your hands, singing along with the songs... you can also worship God by living out your own talents! Painting, Music, art... anything can be done to prasie God. You can paint a picture of something that reminds you of God's beauty or greatness, and that would be worship! You could indulge in a song you really love that represents to you something about God, and that would be worship!

Can washing dishes be worship?? Yes!! All things that are done (however rutine or menial) can be worship if they are done with a heart to serve and bless someone (which in turn blesses the Lord).

If someone was sick and you prepared a meal for them, out of love, respect, and a desire to show God's love, this is worship.

Worship is not singing 3 "slow' songs with our hands raised. It is a daily lifestyle that honors God and shows our love to Him.

Yes, I know that you can also worship God with your life.
But I'm not talking about worship in general. I listened to a sermon from Derek Prince and he said that it's not possible to get close to God without worship. This means I have to worship him, but how? Since I cannot sing I have to find other ways to worship him cause without it praying to be close to God is senseless.

Hi Fredrik,
I like to go for a walk in nature and just let my heart swell inside me. Or read a psalm and think about how kind the Lord is to me. Or just fall on my face and let myself "soak in his love". Or listen to songs sung by someone else or watch someone else dance to the Lord. It's like being in love. Isn't it enough to just be next to the person? I have loved a few people like that, where all you have to do is be near them. I think that God wouldn't mind your voice even if it sounds bad to others since He made it. So singing is not off limits to you just maybe don't do it too loud if you go to church and its really bad . Worship is your heart bursting with joy for something God is doing or has done or promised he'd do and it is just knowing He is near you.

Have a great day!--Rose

Actually my heart is not bursting.I cannot become happy on demand. I mean I can try to sing if this is what makes God happy but I don't become emotional because of this.

Frederik....god Made You For A Specific Purpose.....its Unique To Just You...just Being You And Having Love In Your Heart For God(and God Can Tell Cause He Sees Your Heart) Is Bringing God Joy.....i See You Here All The Time Seeking Answers To So Much Pertaining To God....do You Not Think God Delights In The Fact That You Are So Interested In Him And What He Thinks And What He Likes....its A Form Of Love You Have For Him...how Many Times Do You Ask The Questions That Challenge All Of Us Here To Go Deeper....its A Gift You Have...a Purpose...one Of Many God Has Given You

I ask these questions cause I don't understand a lot of things. I wish I did not have to ask questions.

You Ask The Questions That Maybe Alot Want To Ask But Are Too Scared....so Dont Feel Bad

Your heart does not have to be bursting all the time or even most of the time. That was an example. Have you been married yet? Some days I am so excited to see my husband I do get emotional. But most days it is just this quiet resting being next to him. We can sit in the park or anywhere and not speak just be next to each other. So it is with God. Just sit and rest next to Him sometimes. There's a time to pray, a time to get all emotional, a time to just rest with Him...singing is just one aspect. I can't dance a bit but in our church we have worship dancers. When they dance I feel I am dancing with them. Singing I do but my daughter is not thrilled about my voice. But I still sing. I don't get on the stage and do it, but I sing at home and in church, if I couldn't I'd listen to worship music. I always wanted to play an instrument, and I can't but I listen to others play guitar and piano and I am praising God along with them. Comprendo?

Bye--Rose

Nice capitalization there, Alexx

Yeah, questions are good... like in school, I'm always raising my hand more than other people... maybe because I'm more lost than most...

Fredrik this interestingly name person is my daughter. Could you send her your email address by private message? As you can see she's ...interesting.

Take care--Rose

Yes, I already got her PM.

I do not feel bad because of asking questions. I feel bad because of not knowing so many things. I have so many things which I don't understand, this is because I'm so pedantic.

YOU ARE SMARTER THAN ME CAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT WORD PEDANTIC MEANS

True worship comes when one is in oneness with him and knows Jesus very personally and intimately, for then you will worship him truely in spirit and in truth for you will know exactly what he loves to hear and how to speak expressions of love to him through worship...

Worship is adoring and hugging on Jesus in the spirit, looking through the veil of time into the eternal watching Jesus dance with you as you adore him..

pedantic - marked by a narrow focus on or display of learning especially its trivial aspects
Synonyms: donnish, academic

Oh, this is great. This would mean that without really knowing him you cannot worship him.But without worshipping him you cannot really know him cause you don't get close to him....

You can still worship him but it will be as though looking through a stained glass window if you do not know him personally and intimately.. The christian walk is a journey and you grow, it is the same with worship you begin to grow in this area as you mature in Christ..

Who are you telling this?
Worshipping is so hard when I don't even really know him personally.

Then that is your first step my friend, make it your objective to get to know him personally, also in this walk a key to succeeding is not being so hard on yourself and relaxing..

How shall I get to know him better??

In the morning when you wake up you say good morning Jesus, and you begin to develop a relationship through this in talking to him as your very best friend and you open up to him in letting him know how much you love him, for he longs to talk and chat with you through out the day,and as you do this you will begin to know him more and will begin to soak in Gods word and will want to know about him completely.. And when you go to bed you tell him how much you love him and are thankful for who he is in all that he does in your life...

To know someone you have to talk to them and get to know them, you grow in this area of your walk as well into maturity and will also learn how to listen after you say something to him, for he will respond.. God Bless

But I don't soak into God's word and also don't really have the desire to.
Reading the bible is exhausting and only causes confusing cause I get even more questions.

Agree with all the posters - everything we do can be worship to Him. In relationship to singing -

One nice thing - the Bible doesn't say you have to have a beautiful voice to sing to God - in fact, it says make a joyful NOISE - all of us can swing that.

But I don't feel like singing at all. Once I tried it and sang a few songs and nothing happened. Derek Prince said that God cannot come to unholy places but when we do some worship we offer God a throne. This is what I tried. I sang a few songs and thought that I had offered him a throne now but nothing happened.
