Appeals court rules South Carolina City council prayers unconstitutional

RICHMOND, Va. -- A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld a judge's ruling that prohibits the Great Falls, S.C., Town Council from opening its meetings with a prayer that mentions Jesus Christ.

A three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heade4d by Judge Diana Gibbon Motz who gave the opinion unanimously ruled that such prayers amount to an unconstitutional government advancement of one religion: Christianity.

Darla Kaye Wynne, a Wiccan high priestess, who worships satan, sued the town after its leaders refused to open meetings only with nonsectarian prayers or to allow members of different faiths to lead the prayers. Wynne claimed she was offended and ostracized for refusing to stand and bow her head during the Christian prayers.

U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan of Rock Hill, S.C., ruled last August that the prayers violated the First Amendment's establishment of religion clause. The appeals court agreed, citing U.S. Supreme Court rulings that allow only generic prayers by government bodies.

"Public officials' brief invocations of the Almighty before engaging in public business have always ... been part of our nation's history," Judge Diana Gribbon Motz wrote. "The Town Council of Great Falls remains free to engage in such invocations prior to council meetings. The opportunity to do so may provide a source of strength to believers, and a time of quiet reflection for all."

She continued: "This opportunity does not, however, provide the Town Council, or any other legislative body, license to advance its own religious views in preference to all others, as the Town Council did here."

Judge Robert King and Judge David R. Hansen, a member of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals designated to hear the case, joined in the ruling.

Judge King is a very evil man. He ruled against VMI having prayer before meals. That is a military academy that has been doing that over 100 years. He even ruled against a moment of silence at VMI. There he was the decenting vote. This guy really does not like anything about God at all. We must pray him off the court.

Judge Motz is a graduate of Vassar College and the University of Virginia School of Law. She was appointed to her present position in 1994 after a three-year term as associate judge for the Court of Special Appeals for the Sixth Appellate Circuit.

DIANA GRIBBON MOTZ, Circuit Judge:
Darla Kaye Wynne a satan worshiper brought this suit to prohibit the Town Council of Great Falls, South Carolina from engaging in prayers that specifically invoke Jesus Christ during monthly council meetings. Following
a bench trial, the district court entered judgment for Wynne, ruling
that the "practice of members of Town Council invoking name(s) specifically
associated with the Christian faith at Town Council meetings
violate[d] the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the
United States Constitution." For the reasons that follow, we affirm.

Father, this ruling does not surprise You or me. I speak Salvation over DIANA GRIBBON MOTZ and the other 3 judges involved in this debacle of blindness and lack of Spiritual fortitude to stand against the flow of "Political Correctness". Father, show them Your Goodness for only Your Goodness can bring them to Repentance and Salvation! Holy Spirit work in the lives of these judges to bring them to Jesus. AMEN!

Lord, we lift up for salvation the following: Judge Cameron McGowen, Judge Diana Gibbon Motz, Judge Robert King, Judge David R. Hansen and Darla Kaye Wynne. We know You are not willing that any should perish, according to 2 Peter 3:9, so I am confident I can have the petition I ask for!!! Thank You for saving each one of them, so that this city can have the RIGHTEOUS ruling in their town.

In Jesus Name, I ask, pray, delcare, claim, and SAY it is done!!!

Dear Lord- I pray that an opening of these peoples hearts and minds to the deceptions they are believing and the real truth of the lies they are following become clear as day to them to be turned against satan and see them brought to you Lord, the author and creator of all things.

I pray the Blood of Jesus over these people for blinders to be removed and your Truth be shown unbridaled to them to realize any who do not follow you God, are following satan.

Let this be a turnaround against satan, rather than for him, that he be stopped and driven from this desception to change it to your Truth. and see these souls saved by you thru Christ.

Holy Spirit I release You over the hearts and lives of the pagan, heathen and unbeliever as they read the words of Hope on this site! Mess them up for the Glory of God! Open their spiritual eyes, their spiritual ears, and soften their hardened hearts - to those things which are of You! I proclaim blessings over those who curse, and speak all manner of evil, against us - not because I want to LORD, but because You have commanded us to do this! Thwart the enemies attempts to silence the prayers of Your righteous elect! Rebuke him with one simple word - "GO!" He must leave God, for Your Word is Dunamis Power, and MUST be obeyed! Thank You for that LORD God - Your Powerful Word! Avenge, and protect, Your Saints! Turn this vile situation around for Your Glory - in Jesus name - Amen!

You may not believe in air either, but you breath it everyday. One of satan's more successful strategies is deceiving people into thinking he doesn't even exist!

The spiritual realm is very, very real - just as the Bible describes it to be.

There is a Heaven, and a Hell - an Almighty God - with His host of angels , and a defeated devil - with his host of fallen angels (demons.)

Here is some information easily attained on the net:

Most of today's witches prefer to be called "wiccans" instead of witches. The very name witch conjures mental images associated with evil and they want to change that. They go to great lengths to redefine themselves by using the term wicca. But, the word witch comes from the Old English word wicca (masculine) wicce (feminine) which means to practice sorcery. In fact our English word wicked is from the root word wicca and literally meanswitch-like. As early as 890 A.D. the word "wiccan" was used to identify witches "in the Laws of King Alfred." In short, changing the name from witch to wiccan is an attempt at historical revisionism. A witch or wiccan is, by the very name, a defining word for wickedness.

Witches Do Not Believe In or Acknowledge The Devil/Satan
While Wicca has a modern origin, they eclecticly draw upon diabolical occult information, rituals, and ceremonies from idol worshippers of the past. In fact, they use a deceptive scheme involving semantic word games to deny their involvement with the Devil and or Satan. For instance, Wiccans will tell you that they believe in Lucifer. They claim that "he is the god of the Sun and of the Moon." However most knowledgeable Wiccans recognize that the book La Sorciere by French historian Jules Michelet is a major contributer to their cult. But, here's the facts. "Michelet's book is full of passionate, sympathetic depictions of Satan and medieval witchcraft."

Then there is the book by Charles G. Leland - Aradia:Gospel of the Witches, which is another major source of Wiccan beliefs. The very first paragraph reads…

"Diana greatly loved her brother Lucifer, the god of the Sun and of the Moon, the god of Light, who was so proud of his beauty, and who for his pride was driven from Paradise."

GOTCHA! This is a reference to Isaiah 14 in the Bible where Lucifer is expelled from the presence of God and becomes the Devil or Satan! In fact, Isaiah 14:12 (KJV) is the only passage where Lucifer is mentioned in the entire Bible. Otherwise he is called the Devil, Satan, the Dragon, etc.

The evidence about the wiccan cult being satanically based/inspired is clearly documented - even if the practicioners are deceived into not acknowledging this well known fact.

The very fact that these individuals are here, is clearly an opportunity to pray for them!

I hope, and pray, each one will have their spiritual eyes opened, and receive Jesus Christ as their personal LORD, and Saviour!

Father God, what an awesome opportunity to pray for the lost and hurting! May the manifest power, and presence, of Your Love cover these people, and this situation. Bless these people with the revelation of who Your Son Jesus Christ is. They seek things of the spirit, and power in the spirit - show them the true power of an Omnipotent Loving God! For You are the Glory, Majesty, Dominion and Power forever, and ever! Bless these people who are ensnared by the wiccan cult - a religious trap of the enemy. Spoil his efforts to deceive these little ones! Rebuke the enemy with Your Mighty Word! Bring these people unto You - in Jesus name - Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father, I am praying for the lost and confused who have their thinking so influenced by the adversary. Do they not realize that these ruling cannot stop prayer in people's hearts and minds? It is a sad thing indeed when we cannot pray openly and publily for fear of offending someone. I pray for the lost and the angry, for their souls, that their eyes may be opened and they will see and be given understanding and light.

Dear Lord, save all the people who are posting in here! Let them be convicted of their wickedness! I pray that they come home to faith in Jesus Christ and leave all allegience to Lucifer or any god or goddess they may beleive in. Let them know that Jesus Christ is Lord and that HE must be their Master. Father, I ask that You send salvation to each and every one who comes in here to post in favor of witches or wiccans or whatever they prefer to call themselves. These practices are all abominations in Your eyes, and I pray that these people will realize this and will have a desire to make things right with You. Send people into their paths to witness of the love and goodness of Jesus Christ. I pray that each one who is not saved, who comes here to post, WILL be saved. In Jesus Name, amen.
