A lady mauled by a 12 ft 300 lbs alligator died this morning in surgery due to complications with infection. Please pray for her family, this is devastating.
Woman Attacked by Alligator Dies in Surgery

A Sanibel woman attacked by a 12-foot alligator on Wednesday died Friday morning during surgery.
We spoke to Janie Melsek's daughter, twenty-nine year old Joy Williams, Thursday night, before her mother's death. She was at her mother's side ever since the savage attack, when a helicopter carried her to Lee Memorial Hospital.
Janie Melsek was a natural landscape artist who was well known for her work on Sanibel Island. She was attacked Wednesday afternoon as she worked on a client's landscaping.
"She took absolutely on a consistent basis precautions for it not to happen," Williams told WINK News.
Joy grew up in Sanibel and knows that lurking in its many lakes and ponds, filled with vegetation, are alligators, but this one, the one authorities shot after it attacked Janie Melsek... Joy says this one was different.
"A twelve foot alligator is a completely different issue," said Williams. "Obviously, I'm going to be a little biased right now, but a twelve foot one is a completely different issue."
Her mother suffered severe trauma to her body. Surgeons amputated her arm from the elbow down on Wednesday.
"I love my mom, no matter what how she comes out of this, and to me there's definitely a greater purpose!" Joy Williams said Thursday.
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation set up a fund to help Janie Melsek with anticipated rehabilitation. It is unclear what will happen to that fund now that Melsek has passed.

What the enemy meant for evil, God can turn around into a Great Blessing!
