Prosperity

If prosperity really is God's will then why are there poor christians? Why were the apostels poor? And did Jesus live in a huge house and had his own servants?
And what does prosperity mean? Being able to buy every nonsense or having a watch which costs a few thousand $? Is this okay for a christian?
And what about "planting seeds"? The prosperity preachers imply that when you sow money God gives you back even more money. First of all I haven't gotten back any money yet and if God really worked this way then the reasons for "sowing" money are totally selfish and calculating.I sow 100$ and God gives me back 1000$ then I sow 500$ and God gives me back 50.000 $. And whenever I'm running out of money I "sow" a little bit and then wait upon God to multiply it.... Do people really believe this?

There is one famous prosperity preacher who barely talks about anything else than...[you guessed right]...money ahem I mean sowing and planting seeds...

You gotta keep sowing, no matter what happens. Sow,sow, sow.
If you're poor keep sowing. If you're sick keep sowing! If you're lonely and don't have friends keep sowing and sow until you get the whole blessing!
But if you stop before the cloud is full and cracks then maybe somebody else gets your blessing...

This is basically what he once preached. He even said if you're sick and want healing you have to plant a seed and sow some money.I feel really sorry for all the poor christians which give their last money to such people expecting a huge blessing....
Once I registered at his homepage and wanted to ask a question. I never got my question answered, but I got a letter where I was asked for a...[you're right again]...... a seed.

i think god does want us to prosper....but in ways we can handle it....i mean if we had no end to our supply of money what would we do.....would our desires get us into trouble.....would we become worried about our money....would we become filled with arrogence....maybe not...maybe you think to yourself that if you had money you would help this person or that person....but would you ask god first....god may know to help a certain person would not really help them but merely keep them from turning to him.....and then also when you help someone would it cause you to be self righteous.....i just think that their is a tremendous amount of responsibility that comes with being blessed with money....more than most people think about......on the other hand god may bless you in other...safer ways....like someone may bring you some food or put gas in your car or maybe send you a friend that can fix your car....he takes care of us the way he knows will best serve him....some of the best blessings dont even concern money....like good friends...take for instance this thing with jerirose....god could have sent her 500 dollars in the mail easily...she could have gotten her needs met.....but she would have missed the blessing of seeing how many people care for her and love her......so basically i feel god knows what measure and how to bless us according to our own true heart and the maturity we have in him

You're right. But actually there are worse things that finding 500$ in your mail, I guess I could get used to this...

I mean if somebody has got too many of these boring 500$ bills then I would offer my help. I would take care of them and dispose them.

Yeah, I could use the $500, too. I guess, Jerry is getting $500 to me through contributions on here.... I am thankful! I know both of you gave to that effort, so THANKS!!!

I was thinking of it like this: If I never had a financial need, how could I see God as my Provider (Jehovah Yereh or Jirah)? So, He lets us go through tough financial times so we can know Him in ALL His glory. I can't say I like the continual struggle, but I do know Him as a faithful God, who will never let His child be forsaken or their children begging bread.

I believe we all have a time of harvest, and we do not know that time, only God does. The waiting is VERY HARD, I admit. I often get in the blues over money situations, and I start doubting He will come through. But He always does! Like this donation thing on line. I had no clue that would get started! StarChilde was trying to help me get reconnceted with a computer part she sent, which doesn't seem to want to configure to my computer, so she informed me of it during a phone call. I was floored. Wow! I still can't thank the Lord enough for what's happening!

I sometimes tell the Lord, "It's an adventure to see how You will take care of me this time," because He really does have some amazing ways of doing that.

I know the scripture says the wealth of the wicked is piled up for the righteous, so I am just keep thinking, the longer we wait for that transfer, the MORE will be piled up.

God bless you my friends, with His glory, but financially, too!!!

No problem Jeri. Actually you could pay me back by saying a short prayer for me every day. This would be cool and it doesn't cost anything.
