I received this from a good friend. I have known Roz, her husband and daughter for 15 years, this is the first time I have ever gotten anything from her in e-mail so I know that she feels strongly about this and would not have sent it if she was not genuinely concerned.

We need to pray for Congressman Norm D icks and America for the Salvation and moral values that founded this country.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond to me.

You mentioned in your letter your opposition of the bill H.R. 3313 stating
that it is intended to permanetly alter the checks and balances established
by the Founding Fathers. I find it very interesting how many people in our
nation, including various groups and organizations distorts the
Constitution, established by our Founding Fathers, for means other then what the Constitution was intended, in order to support acts of immorality, which has had a negative effect on our families, children, and nation. I support the stand of recognizing a marraige as a uion between a man and a woman one hundred percent! Although, I do believe you and I live in a great nation, our sense of morality (generally speaking as a whole) has become corrupt and it is time to take a stand for what IS right and not what should be right.

Again, thank you for responding, and I will be sharing your opposition of
the Marriage Protection Act of stating a marriage is a union between a man
and a woman and the Amendment recognizing only marriages between a man and a woman, as well as your comments with other residents you represent in govenrment.

Thank you for contacting me to comment about the so-called Federal
Marriage Amendment. I appreciate your interest.

Recently, President Bush announced his support for an amendment that
would ban states and the federal government from recognizing unions between
gay and lesbian Americans. Legislation to amend the Constitution has already
been introduced and may be considered in the House at some point.

I do not support this legislation. Current federal law already
recognizes only a union between a man and a woman for federal purposes.
This law further states that no state must recognize a same-sex union
approved by another state or territory. I do not believe that the federal
government should interfere further with state and local governments that
choose to make their own decisions in this regard.

In late July, the House of Representatives took the unprecedented
step of approving legislation, H.R. 3313, that seeks to prohibit federal
courts from hearing possible challenges to this Act of Congress. I strongly
opposed this bill, which is intended to permanently alter the checks and
balances established by the Founding Fathers. There is no doubt in my mind
that the judicial powers contained in the Constitution specifically provide
federal courts with the authority to rule on the constitutionality of a law
passed by the Congress.

I will continue to closely follow all developments in this issue. In
this regard, I will keep your comments in mind. Thank you again for

Lord God, Reach out and touch this man, and every person in the Senate and house that do not know you. Lord, we pray for Salvation for our leaders. Let them come to know You personally. Father it is in the Name of Jesus we ask. Amen
