My 19-year-old daughter just lost her job today because she took too much time off from work due to illness (it was all valid) and because she had to attend her friends' funerals (2 of them died in a car accident last weekend). We live in a rural town where any available jobs are snatched up immediately and workers are "a dime a dozen". She doesn't have a car, any money to buy one and she does not have many marketable skills. I have told her to pray fervently, asking the Lord to help her to do the impossible, that is, provide a job. She has been in the world for the past few years, and I thought this would be a good opportunity for her to turn back to Him during her hour of need. Am I being presumptuous in telling her this? I have been trying to gently remind her to seek Him all this time, but I'm not sure I have the right to tell her God will do something if she prays. In any case, please pray for her, she is physically not well, is depressed over the death of her friends and is unemployed (which means no money to pay her bills). Her initials are TS

Thanks, blessings to all, csoden

Jesus wants her to not just turn to him in this time of hardship. He wants her to give him her life. At all times point your child to the Lord. He wants us all the time. I am a recruiter and work hand in hand with personnel and mgrs of different companies. I am sorry for the death and loss of friends. If she had worked sick, they probably would have understood the funerals time off. However attendance at work is not like attendance at school where a doctors/parents note got you off. It can be legitamate but work still expects you to be there. With Jobs hard to come by, even more so she needs to be at work. If I can sit up, I am at work even after 18 years at one job. I am only saying this because we don't want this to happen to her again. Everyone needs stability in their employment history. She need an income and to feel good about her job and she will if she is in good standing with her next employer. Attendance is a biggy for that.
God I pray for this family, this girl TS, this little town. We mourn their loss of two young people. I pray for those who loved them. Their families and friends alike. Comfort them and help them to remember them with Love. Jesus we don't know when you will call us or when our last day is. So we need the salvation of Jesus christ to ensure our eternal life. I pray that TS surrender her life and recieve the salvation of Christ. I pray for her Mom to keep bring the message of God to her to not just pray for work but to pray for salvation and to give her life to the lord, asking Jesus into her life for always. Lord I know that as this young lady finds you, she will be employed again. Let her learn from her mistakes and to approach this new job full of your spirit, your glory, your love and your saving grace.

Lord, I pray that you will work in the life of TS. I pray that you will use this to draw her to you. I pray that you will provide for all of her needs and comfort her. Give her good Christian friends to help her along the way.
Amen
